Most Bowl-Emptying Jump Scares In Anime
Posted 9/1/14 , edited 9/1/14
While anime isn't known for its horror I am still curious to see if anime can terrify watchers.

Name your favorite bowl-emptying jump scare (If you can't think of anything name a scene that made you go "NOPE, NOPE, NOPE, NOT HAPPENING *click off*). You guys get the gist.

I suppose it doesn't matter since both would work, but did you mean bowl-emptying (as in sitting with a bowl of cereal in your lap and then accidentally tossing it in the air due to a fright) or bowel-emptying (crapping your pants)?

One could take it sequentially that I was so scared I emptied my bowels in the bowl? Ok, potty humor aside. Wait.

yup that scared me a good bit....

there's not a whole lot in Yamishibai that are *that* scary, but the one in the first season with the photocopying machine was freaky

Do you mean bowEl emptying anime? Or one which made you jump up and spill your cereal? And I concur there has been no anime to make me do either one.

Figuratively, not literally, of course, but...

Maybe Evangelion? Had some moments that made you grip the edge of your seat

Attack on Titan had some nice horrific moments as well.

Baccano! had some pretty harrowing moments, but not to do with toilets that I can remember.

The really scary one is Blue Spring Ride. *shudder*

And to add to this thread, maybe the scene where the kid gets struck by lightning in Another? I mean it's not scary, it's just the lightning itself was really loud and unexpected.

I haven't honestly been scared in a long time by a movie/show.

The last anime I can say that I even felt any suspense from was Shin Sekai Yori. That anime was more psychological creepy than jump scary though.

As far as jump scare animes, after watching so much anime I have become quite good at deciphering foreshadowing so I usually can tell when a character is going to die or something scary will happen and I am prepared for it. The exception being those times when the story deliberately foreshadows something and then does something else, that throws me off.

For jump scares, Another has some pretty darn good ones.

The scariest anime i've seen would have to be Boogiepop Phantom. It's like the serial experiments lain of horror anime.

Higurashi no Noko Koro Ni (When They Cry) had some intense episodes. Marathoned the first season in the middle of the night, didn't sleep that night/day. Aside from Higurashi, the only other moderately creepy anime I've watched was Another.
