Some good information here. I'll have to look in to Honto or CDJapan next time.

Incidentally, Amazon Japan, at least as of my last order about a month or so ago, still counts sets as one item, regardless of how many volumes are actually in the set. The stipulation is that you actually have to order the whole set, marketed as such (セット), and there seem to be only limited numbers of these sets available. One cannot put individual volumes in one's shopping cart and try to call it a set. For popular manga, the sets can sell out, sometimes within a day of becoming available-- but they do sometimes get re-stocked every so often, so checking the site every so often can be worthwhile.

Something I neglected to mention about Honto and the points system: To get the 10x points during comic sales you have to "register your entry into the sale" with the giant button it presents you. And for the point bonus over X yen order to work, you have to be subscribed to their Honto Premiere mail or whatever they call it. Which is a good idea anyways, because then you get emails detailing the exact dates for the sales, coupons for ebooks, etc.

Generally speaking you just look for the banner ad for the Comic sale and click on it and it should take you to the Entry page.

I can't read it so I only have a few. And they are for series that I really loved.

I have a couple of volumes I picked up at the Kinokuniya in NYC recently, and I plan on picking up a couple more this weekend at the one in Chicago. I am currently learning Japanese, and I do hope to be able to read them eventually. I'm not going to go crazy until I can actually read them better. I am currently at the vocabulary stage and I don't think reading will really be an option until I've learned some Kanji.

On a side note, I believe that Kinokuniya.com does free shipping on orders over $50 in the US.

I don't have A LOT, but I am planning on buying a few (when I say few I mean many) to support the authors as much as possible.
Those series are mostly Hirunaka no Ryusei, Ao Haru Ride, Horimya, Watashi ga Motete Dousunda, and Taiyou No Ie

I bought a few, and I am teaching myself japanese; when I can read them semi-fluently I plan on buying more, especially since there are a lot of manga I want to read but never get localized. Language isn't too hard for me though so. . . at your own risk.

There´s no point in buying it if i couldn´t read it. So I started some years ago to study japanese, and when I decided I wanted japanese version manga, I started buying the series I liked and will never be translated, as Akagi, Saki, Nichijou and others. Is a good way to train myself with that language.

Truth to be told, Akagi is so hard for me...

Omg a Stellvia fan! That was my very first anime. If I may ask, who signed the CD?

It's been so long uhm, it was the sound director and one or two others from the Stellvia staff. I also had a signed copy of angela's first album by atsuko and KATSU, but it got lost in a car accident. (They were brought over by Bandai to Otakon shortly after Stellvia was airing)

Then this year angela was back in the US at Anime Central, so I got their CD they were selling there and got both of them to sign it.

(angela has a lot of great music, so I recommend checking out their various albums if you can. atsuko is an amazing singer)
