I hope they hit their funding goal, it's been interesting getting a semi-insider view of things from their KS campaign.

I've been following this KS fairly closely, and I am continually amazed to hear:

1. The anime industry is suffering financially.
2. Western markets are still largely considered unimportant.

People like Hiroaki Yura seem to get it, and we have to support the Hiroaki Yura's in whatever ways we're able.

Oh my gosh I love this guy. I really hope this guy sees his ambitions fulfilled. It would be great for the industry, in America and Japan, everywhere.

Heh, those answers were enough to get me to decide that I wanted to back the project. Even as a shot in the dark for potentially opening up the industry to having a more global focus, even just a little bit, I think this is worth supporting on an industry level—even if the project itself isn't something that I'm like, "OMGSD:LJKFSL LOOKS SO KEWL!!!"

Not to mention the director is the guy who did Blast of Tempest, so that's a thing...

Now...how bad do I want the BD...?

It's quite interesting looking through. I think a lot of companies these days need to open their eyes, especially Japanese ones. Take Capcom, for example. They never listen to fan feedback because they think they know best, and they're paying the price. The anime industry, they should consider the western market, they don't, and they're paying the price. They're very stubborn. I wish more people had the mindset of Hiroaki. Clearly, focussing on just Japan isn't going to get them anywhere, and there are other places in the world that will gladly purchase the stuff, so when a potential solution is right there clear as day, and the suits refuse to put helpful methods to use it's so painful. It's like a man hanging onto the edge of a building with one hand and swatting everyone elses away with the other saying 'I'll pull myself up on my own'.
