I wouldn't say they have an ego but there is a borderline between self confidence and arrogance. Most people I have met talk about themselves over the borderline have a hard time admitting their mistakes. You can tell yourself that you are human so it's natural but there are those who don't want to follow and see it.

Others might be talking high and mighty about themselves towards others might not be telling them but to remind themselves. Remind how "flawless" they are. They might actually have a small self esteem doing so or not realizing it. Telling yourself how great you are (even if its a joke) will gain you self confidence.

Arrogance isn't always a bad thing but how you treat yourself and others doing so.

Kids do as their parents preach it to be~

Get some duct tape and attach them to the nearest wall.
When questioned why you did so, explain your reasoning to be:

"Oh, Clarence McBigHead's ego got so big, it leaked. I decided to patch it for them before it was too late."

That sounds like an amazing plan, all I need is duct tape.

Should be: Nobody wants to be perfect.

Perfection is just an ideal, and something you can find on maths. There´s no point in perfection.

The problem is we are alays bombed with: You have to be smart, you have to do some sport, have a nice body. Earn fame as much as you can. Find a high payed job. Buy a car.

If you´re a girl, beauty comes first. If you´re a man, be manly....

Pointless... I´m tired of that crap.

So you want people to be self loathing and non-confident.

You're at high school. This is basically the time when people will be the most extreme in their personalities. Shy people will be antisocial. Outgoing people will party every night. Egocentrics will self-worship. It will ease over time, people will learn to observe themselves and moderate their behaviour. You will still see all personality types during your life, but during high school is when they get most exaggerated. Just find some friends and get through it, life's not as bad as it seems.

I don't want to be perfect. Being perfect means no room for improvement.

Being perfect would be boring, having flaws can be interesting.
