I am totally against animal testing, but it's something that will never stop

Ok, that's a fair point, but, as is shown in this thread, more people are against it than for it, so, assuming that this is the case around the world, then surely we should all be able to do something to stop it?

i agree with the threadmaker, it's unavoidable for science progress but of course science should benefit mankind and cosmetics do not benefit mankind

I totally for it for the same reasons people before me have already mentioned.. science.

And personally, I think it's more ethical to risk an animal's life versus a human's.

animal testing is there to enhance our life
even though its used for your selfish needs, or maybe for a good cause,
in the end, it is still unavoidable.
as long as theres animals, there WILL be testings on them

Well, I think that this is really not needed. Even the scientific researches. I mean an animal body is not the same as a human body. So testing on animals is really something else, than testing on humans.
Me being aware of the fact that I might die someday, or that my loved ones might die of an incurable illness, I can get along with that since I see death as a normal part of life. And well I might sound cold, but we shouldn't forget that there are things that shouldn't be changed.
A baby from a friend died. I liked the baby pretty much, but it was something like it's destiny to die. Even though I was attached to the baby(of course I cried and felt sorry for my friend) I accepted it's death. It was something that is unavoidable. And all this researches, what are they for? They are here just to elongate our life. Why do we need to live longer than it was given to us? Death is a natural part of life, so is birth. And if someone is not built strongly enough to endure certain illnesses, then why should he live in the first place? He will just pass his weak immune system down to the next generation. Which will give birth to even weaker immune systems. I admit if there wasn't antibiotica I would be deaf by now, I suppose(had middle ear infections, and still have in winter times, sucks). But that would just influence my life in a slight way.
Anyways I am a naturalist, somehow it is called like that, and I think we should respect it when our time has come, and not test our acidicious meds on animals, just to safe our skin. Seriously. And people buy make-up products from companies where they assure you that they don't test on animals. Natural faces are prettier, I really don't need to talk to an over-painted face. Women, in the end your lover will see your face without make-up, so stop putting this trash on your skin. It will eventually make you look like a cheap whore, or an insecure idiot.

That sounds like animals life's were predestined to end as our test subjects...sorry..I don't see any sense in this statement. I hope you are not Christian or Muslim.

I support animal testing. Without it, we wouldn't have nearly as many cures for diseases. One of the main reasons for using animals is that drugs and their effects can be tested more quickly since animals have shorter lives.

i think testing on animals is okay because they only test on animals from pounds that no one picks that animal.

like a dog is in there for 5 years i think it should be tested on because its gonna die anyways

i know i know you might think of what about the pain?
its already in pain!

yup yup.it's more ethical to test in animals than on humans..what if if scientists pick you..yourself and a dog...of course you would say the dog much deserves to be experimented than you^^..humans...you will strongly regret than you would take consequences taking such newly invented products ryt??

Well, in my opinion, I really disagree with animal testing, but it's unavoidable. I mean, I read in a magazine that most medical breakthroughs came from animal testing. It's sad but we can't refrain from animal testing. BUt if there is a way in which we can find other ways in testing for medicines, etc. then it'd be a sign that we humans are actually using our brain for once. Animal testing wouldn't really garantee success, since the way animal organs work is different from humans.
