This is extended discussion people.. keep that in mind when you post please. Opinions should be supported.

For those who are so against it, if the life of a family member depended on research that tested on animals, would you say no to treatment or not support the project from which a cure or treatment could be found?

Test on people. Mhmm.
People do all sorts of testing for drugs....
People on death row should do it.

I'm against animal testing because all lab animals are killed when the experiment ends, whether the test failed or succeeded

what a nostalgic topic~~~...anyways,i'm against animal testing.for one, animals are life forms as well, even though they aren't able to communicate with us,but that goes likewise.of course,if we don't experiment and toy with animal's live, some of us may indeed die.however,if a certain project were to be going nowhere,it might as well be discontinued.i recently saw a video where they took out an eye from a rabbit(i'm sure it was a rabbit).perfectly healthy animals should not be experimented on.diseased animals, however, pose problems.firstly, they would not only make other animals sick, but there may be a chance of infecting humans as well.can't really think straight right now,so i might come back later.

you forget the fact that we humans have destroyed nature.like i said before, animals, too, are living, breathing, life forms.think of the animals' point of view.you don't want to be experimented, with a chance of death,do you?even worse, humans murder each other, fight each other, and go into war with each other.jails are for criminals, but what about animals?they're being caged up in zoo's.sure, the people there care, but i don't exactly think it's right.10% of me says they should be let free.

I support animal testing, More so on medical than cosmetic though. The argument is "see from the animal's PoV" however I see from the "human" point of view which is that I sure as hell don't want humans to be tested on like that. Animals may be living and breathing however from a technical point of view we ARE superior to them. No other "animal" has had the ability to use technology in such a way as we have or develop culture. So it is only natural that animals would be the subjects for these tests. People keep saying there are "better alternatives" which may be true but the hybrid car si a "better alternative" and you don't see everyone driving those. I support the use of these so called "better alternatives" however I don't really think it matters if a few people still stick with testing on animals, It's not like ALL of those tests are as gruesome as they are made out to be.

as much as i wan to be noble, i cant say i am against animal testing

hence, i have to support the notion of animal testing

reasons being
- drugs will not be possible
- clinical trials will never exists
- AIDS will never be discovered
- we will be easily killed by common epidemics
- life span will be shortened
- no such thing as DNA will be known
- transplant will not exist

My mom experiments with mice...I don't like it but I can understand why. She's studying how to cure diseases that haven't yet been cured.

Hmmm what if they were testing it for several reasons, like product using for medical reason...if not properly tested maybe humans can suffer or cause serious illnesses...you know guys these problems are being fight by the law, justice, government or wathever...... or even animals rights that we simply cannot intervene, a mere children or young adult who watch animes....

I think it's necessary. We trust a lot of the products we use and put on our bodies because of testing. Sure there are other ways to test products but think in general most people put more value on a human life over an animal.

There's no way to really know what's going on inside without doing so. Everything may appear to be fine on the outside, but u never know what's going on the inside.
