Because we have significantly slowed down our own evolutionary process (technology has replaced it) that would likely "weed out" many of those susceptible to certain diseases, this seems to be our only course of action unless we wish to let things take their natural course again. I think it's terrible, but I'm conflicted on whether nature should be allowed to separate the chaff from the wheat. Technology does seem to be the better choice...

As for testing on animals for cosmetic reasons, that's absurd. Valuing small differences in appearance over the life of animals... I just don't understand.

I both agree and disagree.

My argument:

Agree: No offense to animals but it will prevent from hurt to humans.

Disagree: Animals are living and don't deserve to go blind because of shampoo testing

bottom line: as long as it doesn't scar the animal for life it's fine. Shampoo testing were they squirt shampoo in there eyes is terrible.

I am against animal testing for cosmetics. I mean I understand if you have to test on animals to find a cure that can save many lives but torturing and killing animals so that someone's face can look slightly better? It just seems very wrong to me.

(Responding to the people who said that animal testing doesn't work because animals are different from humans) They use animals with a similar DNA structure to humans, like rats, so even if there was a difference in results, it would be miniscule, and definetely not enough to cause a different result. Also, rats are born in litters and reproduce more quickly than humans. It kind of evens out.

Concerning cosmetic animal testing, I think the scientists should have enough common sense to figure out that if they put acid into make-up, the results won't be favourable.:phew:

if we cant test it on rats lets test it on humans

I'm totally against of animal testing cause it's just something awfull, there is a reason of why those tests aren't done on humans, and it's cause they know it can be dangerous and can produce a lot of harm

i personally think animal testing is necessary, but wrong. If we don't have animal testing so many humans could lose their lives, and though it may seem cruel and inhumane i think that it is fit for humans, were not perfect after all.

Yes, test on animals. Test on them so we know what might work on us.

Personally I think they should make tiny George Bush clones because no one would care

i guess it's okay for medical/science.
choose something that's over-populating the world?

but, yeah, for cosmetics, no.
that's just wrong.
