This happened in Florida? No surprise. The great right wing nut jobs at Fox News will have a field day covering this one.

Just another little sociopath unwilling to take responsibility for her actions. Easiest way to shove off the blame? Point your finger at a niche interest most of the Western world doesn't understand yet.
Oh, and when you realize your victims didn't die just text one of them and apologize profusely. That way you'll look a little apologetic when your trial date comes.

I can't argue if she blames it on Boku no Pico.

ROFLOLMAO!
"There's a part of this book where two guys get into a fight together, that clicked something in her mind --"
Lol. In every manga, someone gets into a fight. You can't exactly blame the manga.
Love how the cops have read the manga though, did they like it?

So I was watching the Little Mermaid the other day and two characters got into a fight, so that clicked something in my mind and I decided to attempt to murder my whole family.

I really do not understand any of this news story and what it has to do with Slender Man or Soul Eater.... That was actually painful to read and watch. I now regret taking the time to look at that.

I get that anime fans tend to do crazy things, but never something this over-the-top. That's just total idiocy.

Good thing she wasn't reading Fullmetal Alchemist.

Seriously though, it's just another case of blaming violent ___(insert type of media here)___ for crazy behaviour of young individuals. Traditional media like newspapers and TV are slowly losing their audience so they are trying to make newer types of media look like the root of all evil in this world.
I hope that the girl and her family will be alright.

The girl's family had to have known something wasn't right with her before this all happen. Different story which didn't include homicide, I remember reading about a boy killing himself because Itachi was "killed". You have mentally unstable people out there blaming the simplest things for their actions. Why won't people focus on why those people feel that way?

My condolences to the girl's family.

There's a conflict in almost every story, no matter what form, many of them have violence. She names an anime, of all things, like it's not hard enough getting a bigger anime community in the west.

Anime is not to blame. The parent's bad parenting skills are to blame.

Well, he quoted it as "disturbing" so I doubt he enjoyed it very much . Anyway, the way she went through the act makes me think that rather than this being an emotional or psychotic incident, it is a deliberate act of attempted murder. For example, she changed out of loose clothing so she wouldn't catch on fire, and how she used two different kinds of accelerant, which just does not seem like something one would do without calculating.
