As disgusting as it is to be getting off to hentai depicting underage girls, I truly question any law forbidding that. It's not the role of the government to enforce cultural or moral values. The role of the government is to protect the liberties of its people. This Canadian man didn't violate anyone's liberties nor consume actual child childporn (which would be incentivising actual violation of liberties), so why he's in trouble with the law is ridiculous. This problem would have been best handled by a preacher, or a concerned friend/family member talking to him about it.

I am not much of a hentai fan... A little is alright but for me, sex is just not a spectator sport... I DO NOT find it objectionable for people to watch hentai, though kids in hentai is just kind of creepy.

I used to have a website dedicated to fanservice; scantily clad and for the most part tastefully nude anime girls.... That was more interesting than hentai to me...
Different people have different tastes...

BUT this guy.....
Lemmmee see...

The guy was watching porn at work.... HAD 210 files of it on a hard drive.... Apparently AT work..... Acknowledged that he was watching this stuff at work "several times"
Porn, animated, about underage kids, at work, I have to ask, "Just how F*cking stupid was this guy?"

Canada in my experience has always had a zealous reputation for protecting children, regardless if they are real or not. You can show some serious violence and nudity on TV but you better not be showing it about kids in Canada... even on your internet service.....

Every one I ever knew that was stupid enough to watch or surf for porn at work got their collective asses canned.... Just because you're savvy enough to delete your browser history doesn't delete the history in the network router, unless you have or can hack the user/pass into it... grow up people... If you gotta watch porn do it at home, not at work.

If you are dumb enough to watch porn at work you practically deserve all the crap you get...

Sixty days isn't much.... If it was real underaged kids he'd be getting years

The thing that's going to affect him more are the 10 years registered as a sex offender

I almost for got about that..... I did not know it would be that long... Although since he got a light sentence they might be a little lenient about registering . . . being it is Canada, I have my doubts.

Gotta be careful....

True, true. I agree on all of that and see why you could be concern for that. But that's what I mean by keeping 2D and reality separated. If they cannot then they shouldn't be watching it in the first place. Many people often fantasise that. No one can control other's thoughts. I mean, if they don't take it into action or really do it then it's fine. The law would take a step into it because they do not know. They think or anyone would who doesn't know about anime/manga automatically assume its cartoons or pron. He did look at it at a public place so he was at fault for that.

Yeah, that 10 years as a registered sex offender is redickulous. I sure hope he fights that to the best of his ability. I know I would.

Good luck with that. I know someone that went through a bad breakup/custody battle and was convicted due to false allegations that were later overturned(and he ended up with custody) and it took him about that long to get off the registry even with the decision being thrown out.

Not only does sex have a spectator mode, it has awesome co-op and multiplayer modes. Of course the single-player campaign can feel a bit uninspired at times.....

They're wasting their time on some loser who doesn't really pose any threat, when there are so many sexual predators on the prowl.
