Su, your new profile pic is freaking me out a little bit and may warrant a visit to a shrink.

How many jobs are being offered in the field of Psychology? Prospects in 5 years or less?

What kind of jobs go along with Psychology?

What entry level jobs can you take after getting your degree in Psychology?

Do you actually apply what you learn in Psychology in a real life basis?

After learning and undergoing on learning Psychology, what false expectations you had that shattered?

Just watch all categories of anime, and you'll learn psychology. This doesn't apply if you watch weird shows with bad story that's incomprehensible. I have not tried a psychology course, maybe it'd be fun to combine with frenzied anime addiction huhu.

Just wait until you get to psychology in college and you learn how to use it to alter people's behaviors in interesting ways.

Psychology IS fascinating, but I think perhaps you should not persue this field. Your phrasing suggests to me your motive here may not be entirely altruistic...

Duh. My entire motive is to feed my curiosity. Helping people would just be a side effect. I'm totally going to pursue it. Totally. Back off.

I'm in an University where the 2nd largest amount of graduates are Psychology majors. My ex was a Psychology major and I'm about to earn a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Not to burst your bubble of curiosity but you better study a hard science (biology, chemistry, bioengineering, etc) in conjunction with Psychology. Otherwise you'll not find any jobs for Psychology majors and the ones that you find are actually low paying (40k<x<50k). My ex isn't even working in anything related to psychology which was a shock to her and she was earning <45k.

May I suggest something like Neuroscience! Psychology is interesting like Philosophy that been said the job prospect are bleak and low paying.

Please, don't misunderstand I don't really care what you end up studying as we're all working towards our own dreams but Psychology is one of the most awarded degrees in the USA and that makes the field super competitive and low paying not to mention that in order to really do something with it you need to earn a MS or PhD otherwise prepare to work in an office building answering phones.

I was thinking of going for a Psy.D, actually. What I want to do is be a clinical psychologist. Actually diagnosing and treating mental disorders through therapy.
