Hey everyone!

Just wanted to see if anyone here could clarify, the video page for Attack on Titan says:

Due to licensing, Attack on Titan will be on hiatus for the following periods:
Episodes 1-13: May 20, 2014 – August 19, 2014
Episodes 14-25: September 9, 2014 – December 9, 2014

Now, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Attack_on_Titan_episodes#Episode_list, up to episode 22 is released, and 14 was released on August 9th...so is the page just saying it won't be on Crunchyroll for a while longer? Why a hiatus from September 9 when it was actually released on August 9th? Is there some meaning to using the time range I'm not understanding?

Please and thanks for any clarification! :3

Could be licensing and contracts. After all, it's being aired on Toonami.

Look at the dates on the wikipedia page you linked to. The August 9th date you see for episode 14 was only the english airing of the show on Toonami. The "up to episode 22" you are talking about is from 2013 and is the original japanese airing of the show.

The hiatus that notice is likely due to licensing issues as it roughly coincides with the english airing of the show on Toonami.

Hi, sorry for the close, but this question comes up a lot (here, here, etc..).. mostly over in the Site Support section. Just as an aside, that'd be a better place to ask site-related questions. Normally we'd move it for you, if there weren't already others like it

Anyway, yes, we had to temporarily take down AoT, which was announced over at http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-849067/attack-on-titan-hiatus. The hiatus was mandated by the license, but it will come back to CR after the hiatus is over, so look forward to the second half to be available here again starting Dec 9th!
