It was appalling yet somehow fascinating; however, I definitely wish I could wipe the images from my mind. I have read Mai-Chan's daily life and Modern Stories of the Bizarre. How about you?

i'm not sure if pupa would be put in this category but i think that was about as gory as i've read. as far as if i could cleanse my mind of it? meh, it effects me about the same as a gory movie (esp some of those jpn ones). it's alarming at first but after a few minutes you find yourself keep watching/reading with a sick fascination. some of us are just more drawn to the more "out there" things than others. i looked up those two you mentioned and yeah, this genre is not something i would purposely go look for. hell, the only reason i even read pupa was because of the damn anime lol

I have read some of Kago Shintaro like: Blow Up, Superglue, Holy Night, Drunkard Condo Syndrome, Iwa and Izaemon. Don't know if this is considered guro but I read Franken Fran, Uzumaki and Ichi the Killer too. And I don't really regret it.

Misu Misou is a favorite. It delivers the important message that no one can be trusted.

Psychological thrillers tend to contain guro, and I tend to read psychological thrillers. As long as it's not overemphasized to the point where it makes the story itself bland, I enjoy it.

I've also seen a few chapters of Mai-chan/ other guro. Surprisingly guro doesn't shock me, it sates the morbid curiousity

I'd say guro is disgusting and the stuff serial killers read, but I am a lolicon, so I am in no position to judge whatever violent fetishes my fellow crunchyrollers have.

Yes, I've read Guro, but I don't regret it. I was introduced to horror/horror-esque movies and shows very early on, a Resident Evil: Archives walkthrough booklet introduce me to violent games when I was eleven, and I've been reading gory/graphic novels since fifth grade (long before I got into manga/manhua). Also, I've seen some graphic things in real life, too. For example; a childhood friend of mine's house burned done when I was in fourth grade, and I helped clean up the mess. They had alot of cats that they either owned or hanged around. Well, they didn't all make it away from the fire. I helped dispose of plenty of cat carcasses, and I liked several of the kitties.

Guro doesn't gross me out really as i am pretty into gore art. However... Sexual Guro on the other-hand simply sickens my heart. I find it in pretty poor taste to sexualize images of intense violence and rape; most of the time its extremely brutal as-well.

I honestly cant see how anyone enjoys Sexual Guro.. but then again, why am i masochist? guess everyone has something that makes them tick.
