one persons normal is another persons not normal.

It's normal for americans to be able to pour themselves a glass of drinking water from faucet. That might not be the case for a child living in a Chechen refugee camp.

Accepted by society

It doesn't mean anything. Its made up to prevent nonconformity from expected cultural mores.

Being normal is just conforming to be like the rest of society. Your basically living the same life as everyone else. You may take a different path, but in the end it's all the same. In my opinion I would never want to be normal, because normal is boring.

Being socially acceptable as per' the standards of living in your given country or culture. That's the closest I can think of off the top of my head.

Well, Vsauce has a interesting video that kinda talks about this subject called "Some Surprising Things" so I tend to go with that for defining defining normal.

Its what ppl around you define, and if they weren't there, it would not exist.

I think normal is just what we perceive to be "everyday" life. Normal doesn't really exist, just perceptions and perspectives that are dictated by what society tells us we should do. Do what you want, enjoy life, screw everyone else.

Amen brother! For example it's apparently hip right now to have a problem with fanservice and ecchi, but I love it, and don't care what anyone else thinks :-) screw them, my life, my preference XD

It means what it means. Typical, average, the standard.

People put too much meaning into words and/or blaming a word for negativities. Being too politically correct about certain words. Is it that scary to use the word, "abnormal"? to describe something?

This is why I like science. We don't have to beat around the bush. If things are abnormal, we'll describe it as abnormal. Or anomaly, it's anomaly.

A vector that's perpendicular to a surface?

Lol - seriously though, I just look at normalcy as a measure of how similar something is to some other group. To me, it's always a comparison rather than some abstract quality of a group. And it's also more of a sliding scale than a dichotomy. Of course, you could compare how normal you are to yourself, but in my system such a comparison would always be described as perfectly normal.

As for why people would want to be normal (according to how I look at it), well i'd say that's because people feel more comfortable around people they're similar to. Conversely, people tend to ostracize people they are dissimilar to. So if you find yourself pretty far down on the sliding scale of normalcy, you want to try to boost yourself up in order to feel more comfortable around people. For example, if you just moved to an unfamiliar country, you want to try to normalize yourself so that you fit in with those around you. Unless you'd rather stay normalized to the place you came from (as is the case with some immigrants, i'd imagine). And there's no reason you can't switch between both (since normalcy between two groups is not mutually exclusive).

That's just how I look at it, but my view could very well be utter nonsense and is heavily subject to change lol

To me normal is average, standard, and expected, and what happens the majority of the time, or something that is generally socially accepted. Things like breathing, eating, liking music are all normal. Nothing wrong with doing, liking, not liking etc. things that aren't generally considered normal though.
