To me, being "normal" is a bad thing. It means you're plain/boring. Not many people are normal though.

Well, Vsauce has a interesting video that kinda talks about this subject called "Some Surprising Things" so I tend to go with that for defining defining normal.

I agree with this.

"Normal" is pretty much just the average behavior, personality, interests, etc of a population at large.

So to be normal you have to fit the average description of a person, and have no real variance in your likes or dislikes, which makes for a rather boring person.

"Normal," in my opinion, signifies conformity.
That's why in the world exists the creatures known as hipsters.

Normal is purely from the eye of the beholder. Unless you mean from a societal standpoint, then it's probably everything that goes with the status quo, and there's always room to change that.

It's quite a dangerous word, really.

Honestly, I don't believe in this "normal" you speak of.

Normal cannot exist for an individual. It only exists within groups, where normal behavior is decided by majority.

The same goes for sanity.

Normal- conforming to the standard or the common type
In order to be normal, you have to be what society considers normal. You are not allowed any interests that goes against the norm, as you will be considered a freak. Those who want to be "normal" are easy to control/manipulate as they will do anything just to be accepted. If you were to tell someone that eating dog poop was normal, then they would obviously go and do it because they want to continue being accepted by society. In order to be normal you have to give up who you are and become just like all the other boring and lack of an identity people in society.
Well those are my two cents and here is a great quote by Rod Serling(creator of The Twilight Zone) that I think fits this discussion.

“Being like everybody is the same as being nobody.”

I have two definitions. Take to the side of the "norms" of society. What's common and acceptable in society. Another thing is what you personally find "normal" or common in your life, even when it may seem strange to others.
