Prisma Illya is just another spin-off like the others (and is mostly just fanservice for VN readers anyway), and isn't required reading to understand the franchise. Only difference is that it has an anime adaptation.

The "main" works are SN and Zero (which are also thematically similar), and are the ones that are the most important to the series.

Also, if you really want to get to read it, you could always just look up a walkthrough on Youtube or something. VNs are mostly just reading, after all.

There are no "main" works in Nasuverse. Prisma Illya is just as canon as FSN or Apocrypha are.

Everything is canon.

I really wanna see the gameplay of the visual novels after this thread but since I don't own a computer I can't download it my self.

Can anyone give some links to game play videos of the games with each of the routes in order for each of the games if it's not to much trouble.

Thanx.

Hiroyama, the author of Prisma, has said himself that it's literally fanfiction. So basically, no.

The channel name is XerBlade and he uploaded everything but the sex scenes (you want to play Realta Nua anyway and they don't have them). He also uploaded all of Tsukihime and Kagetsu Tohya if your interested.

This is what I've been using and I believe it to be a great chart to follow. Only been going through anything Fate/ at the moment, however am going to go into the rest of the Nasuverse afterward.

Except the VN on fuwa is an outdated version. The newest one has more CGs, better effects, and a new soundtrack.

Realta Nua you mean? I still played through the older version, and found it pretty awesome anyway (and it still had voices).

If we are using that logic both Fate/Apocrypha AND Fate/Zero are fanfiction since both started as doujin novels by the fans of the project. So no. Illya is still canon.

Yes, the one on Fuwa is the 2004 version with some Realta Nua things patched in. The latest fan patch translates the PC Re-release of Realta Nua and adds in the vita openings&soundtrack. While it's not worth rereading the entire thing if you finished the VN, it's definitely worth switching over to it if you're still reading it.

Does Realta Nua alter the sex scenes or remove them, or just add new scenes?

Oh alright glad they came out with one incorporating the Vita material, although I already finished F/SN. When I revisit it I'll be sure to play through that version. Thanks for the information. I am hoping that F/HA gets the Vita material as well, which I believe has voices this time (and new CG/OPs).

The unpatched japanese version doesn't include them but the latest fan patch puts them in as well as an option to turn them off (they get replaced with the Realta Nua new scenes). I've seen the new scenes for Fate and UBW and personally like them a lot more and feel they do the story better.

No, by that logic, that would just mean that Zero and Apocrypha are also fanfiction. Heh.

But seriously now, Zero was supervised by Nasu and actually has some relevance to the theme of SN (ideal of a hero of justice and all that), while Apocrypha, Prototype Fragments, and Prisma Illya all only really borrow the concept of the Grail War. It's the themes of SN and Zero that make the story, the Grail War is just the backdrop and the setting. But really, the point is that Prisma Illya has no real relevance other than fanservice and such. Good fanservice, but fanservice nonetheless.

Also, neither Zero or Apocrypha started out as doujin novels. Zero was a formal prequel, Apocrypha was a failed MMO project.

Methinks you should read-up on the history of how Fate/Zero was published before talking.

Also Illya is no less of a "fanservice spin off" than Apocrypha is. And it is under Type Moon's supervision too.

Prisma Illya is part of nasuverse just as FSN apocrypha KNK and Tsukihime, etc are. And they are all equally canon, whether you like them or not.

Prototype has nothing to do with this since its officially not-canon
