so restaurants...... there's many out there but I want to know, when you go to a restaurant, do you order the type of food they specialize in or not?

an example would be you go to, let's say, a Mexican restaurant. Would you order something Mexican? or do you look the waiter/waitress dead in the eye and say "I WANT A CHEESEBURGER!"

as for me, I try to get the type of food the restaurant specializes, although I did have a date order a "chicken sandwich" at a Mexican restaurant once

no matter where is.... if I see chicken strips or chicken fingers..... I have to order it! same thing with Chicken Alfredo. ^^ but I usually order what they specialize in lol I did order a hamburger a few times at this Mexican restaurant back in Michigan but It was because they made the best hamburgers >_< but I would also order some tacos or enchiladas with my order of the burger

I gave my friend crap for ordering a burger once, he looked at me and said "Fine!" then he took the salsa and dumped in on the burger. I think it was a bacon cheeseburger. he orders them all the time

I love mexican btw, and I always get the pollo loco special, so I dont deviate from the menu. I just go elsewhere if I want something different

Being of Mexican decent I dislike eating at Mexican restaurants because it sometimes sucks even the ones that are well known. I'm probably just used to eating home cooked Mexican food. I also thought when you go eat at a restaurant you go for the specialization they cook.

Depends how I'm feeling. If I'm not too hungry, I get one of the lighter items on the menu.

If I'm ravenous, I'll ask the waiter/waitress about what they recommend and go with a suggestion unless something on the menu seems to call my name.

If I'm somewhere in the middle, I go with a dish I can't make easily at home.

I try to avoid going to places that have American food or Americanized versions of food. With that being said I always order the food they specialize in cause you don't go to an Italian restaurant and order a salad. Right?

I always order the type of food they specialized in. If I wanted a cheeseburger or chicken sandwich I would have gone to In-N-Out or Chick-fill-A.
