it's wrong cause to punish people who committed huge crimes are still entitled to their rights as a human being.
no one else but God can take away the life of a human being. we don't have the right to take the lives of people even those who committed grave sins.

I find it very funny how everyone brings a theological arguement into capital punishment. Hear me out: Church=/=State. Stop leaving everything into God's hands when we established a system to restrain the vices of the natural state of man. The government is a necessary evil. You guys really want the government to be spending $40-$50k/inmate to keep them in prison, when we could use that money to exceptionally benefit underpriviledged citizens who I bet would never commit a crime. Wow, unbelievable.

I like how a lot of people in court trials bring in the psychological/biological aspects of a serial murderer, of how he was raised and experienced all these traumas etc. all that bs, into factor of committing a crime and then the Church blames the governement for a poor environmental upbringing of the family. Well I say, what happened to the moral lessons that should be taught to that said family on how to keep an excellent household? How come we totally omit the wrongpart on the Church's fault there? Because the family probably wasn't apart of the Religion? Because they're not obligated to listen? That it can go in one ear, out the other because the government is always there to scapegoat? Separation of church and state is the best thing to come to government, imo.

If the Church is so insistent on keeping scums of society alive, why not make a proposal? All those serial murderers that fall under the Catholic branch shall be held in a separate precinct hosted by that Church, and the Church itself can pay the 40-50k for the intake of said criminals. Sounds fair right? Watch the Church turn down the offer, and don't give me all this bullshit why the Church can't do it monetary wise because the Vatican is one of the richest orginizations in the world. Why let the government pay for someone they don't want to keep?

[edit] I don't hate the Church at all or anything. I'm quite grateful that they're there helping the less fortunate countries in the world and is always the one to lend the helping hand, but why not leave it to the government to govern and we leave them to benefitting the world

If you deliberately kill someone else(that wasn't trying to kill you); you should be put to death. The victim's family can't see or continue to enjoy their loved ones anymore, so the same should be the killer's family. Death doesn't just affect the victim. People should think before they act., and bear the full consequences and responsibility for their actions.
And if someone molests a child in a sexual way? The molester should be put to death too. Same for any rapist.
People that disagree should have to pay extra to keep these sicko's in prison. I don't want my tax dollars given to take care of a pervert or a killer. And when they get out of prison they should have to live by the people that didn't want them executed.
Oh, and I'm a Christian. The Bible does not say to not execute people for crimes. It does require a Christian to forgive those(the person) that sinned against them. The crime must be answered for though. Christ himself was executed. If there was no execution, there could have been no fulfilling of prophecy. We're instructed in scripture to obey the laws of the land unless those laws directly go against the Bible. ANYONE that doesn't know that, isn't/hasn't read their Bible and don't know what they are talking/preaching about. Because a Christian leader(like the pope), says execution is wrong; does NOT make it scriptural. In fact if ANY leader says something contrary to scripture they are a false prophet or false teacher and leading the faithful astray and should NOT be listened to anymore.

In some ways it's cruel, but if you kill some one else then...yeah, you kinda deserve it.

capital punishment is in some cases wrong and in other cases write. like say a person just decides to go out and kill someone at the spur of the moment, what will they do if there is no caspital punishment? the person will most likely be released in ten to twenty years, and that person might just want to kill another person, but this time he wont get caught. on the other hand they could convict an inoccent man while the real criminal is still out there. then the state would have to deal with the fact that they had killed an inoccent man.

No, its basically the same as a life sentence its just the person is forced to be bored the rest of their life. IMO life sentence is way worse than the death penalty

Actually it costs about the same if not more to execute a 'patient'.

It's a fine line between what Moral Justice is and the Justice of the Victim. For example, is it right to excecute a murder, when technically that may be seen as murder? But is it right to let the families of the victim live knowing that the murder is still on the prowl?

Rape is the one that tips me over the edge. If you are murdered then you don't have to suffer any more, if you are raped then you have to live with the fact that someone has imposed themselves onto you and your physical space. Rape offenders are more than likely to re-offend.

Should they be allowed to? No. Should they be excecuted? Possibly.

Capital punishment isn't wrong, but when to use it is the issue. I'd rather have a murderer rot away in a prison cell, but for some, prison is really not that bad. If they do a really heinous crime, then just kill them so that you don't have to worry about them.

in my country, the death penalty is given. but, personally, i'd prefer the prisoners themselves to be given a choice (if that is possible).
