I'm cheap. Also, I hardly use the cell I have for anything (haven't even bought more minutes in almost three years), so why buy a rather expensive phone that I'd likely rarely use?

I'm android ever since I ditched my iPhone 4S. The latest iPhone 6 raw specs are comparable to the 2012 Google Nexus... for shame Apple.

I will admit, for users who want a smart phone that will be user friendly and just work, the iPhone wins (albeit because you sacrifice the freedom to customize your experience). Even the Apple Genius admitted that.

I also dislike how every "new" iOS is a completely new version, even though it's essentially the same as iOS1(save for wallpapers and notification panel); the upgrade from iOS4 and iOS5 was essentially more apps you can't delete. Android has the modesty to say it's latest software is only a 0.0.1 upgrade (they've been rocking version 4.1.X for a good while now)!

That's a legitimate reason. Too bad I'm not on speaking terms with iOS.

I hardly like using phones so I would rather not get one. Plus, I am too too cheap to or would rather spend my money on other things such as books, anime merch, or etc

yes

i like it a lot, everything's already laid out and easy to use -- an android on the other hand is way too smart for me XD

I don't have one now because I lost my old one a while ago, but I'll be getting the 6 here soon.
Software means little, although I do highly prefer the OS as opposed to the Java Hybrid Android system (I'm an iOS and Google developer, so I'm really not biased).
Hardware though, apple has it hands down in my opinion. And thats the real reason I loved my iPhone 4s as opposed to any Google powered phone I have had (Yes, this was years ago haha. I would still prefer that 4s....)

HTC 8X Windows Phone, I like it because of the SkyDrive integration (and imho, SkyDrive is more adaptable than icloud/gdrive) the UI experience and its dependability. The phone is also well sized and durable and HERE Drive is also quite nice.

I do not own an iPhone because iPhones are flimsy and break easily, the experience is boring and too app centric, too many people have them, and due to the fact that it lacks SkyDrive integration. It would be nice to have SIRI, but supposedly I'm getting cortana next month according to HTC, so I don't really care lol.

Just to be contrarian tho, I'm considering getting a blackberry when my contract ends in 6 months tho if they release a nice one. Every phone out there is the same nowadays, a capacitive touch screen slab; I want something new. Honestly I miss my Blackberry Storm with SurePress as the screen actually clicked and that was an interesting feature lol.

dude.. I had a BlackBerry Bold at one point (probably almost 6 years ago) and man was it a great phone back then. Good times.

Thats the problem, because its 4.4.4 at the moment. Google isn't rocking 4.1.x, your smartphone manufacturer is.
In addition, Google doesn't really boast big new features in each major release (When they change the name to a new candy), and generally do rolling releases (adding features constantly along the 4.4.x timeline).
Like for example, just yesterday they completely redid the Hangouts design to match with some of the other redesigns they have done. And if you have a Samsung phone, you might not even see 70% of these changes.
Both the beauty and the things I hate about Android are that any manufacturer can change whatever they want, giving each phone a completely different feel.

No smartphone.... Don't want to pay for data. I use my phone for a phone and MP3 player that's it.

Not really an Apple fan.

I don't have an iPhone because i'm not really a fan of Apple.

Not for some lofty financial or technological reason or anything like that. I've just always had problems handling and sending files on Apple devices.

Perhaps i'm just too ignorant to use them, but it always seems like a chore to interface Apple devices to anything that isn't produced by Apple. At some point, I just vowed to stop using them altogether since they always seemed to add an extra hiccup to whatever I was doing. Thus, I decided to get an Android phone instead of an iPhone. I've never used an iPhone though, so I can't say if I regret it or not - but I haven't had any problems interfacing my phone to my computer or transferring files to and fro, so i'm perfectly happy with my android phone and have no desire to get an iPhone ^_^

Androids have unique features the apples could never have.
One example are the beautiful live wallpapers us androids have, another is the Laser Focus on the LG G3. Try that for size.

I don't have a smartphone yet.
I grew up in a big family that couldn't afford smartphones.
It's funny because people try to swipe through the screen on my flip phone.
