I fully support "gay asian boy", 2-3 years is ALOT OF TIME. It is not the site that changed, IT IS YOU "bleach 77777777"

I don't understand why people make this thread every other month. (And i'm not aiming that at OP or anyone in particular, so don't take it personally).

But people left this site for 2-3 years, come back... none of their friends are here anymore, then proceed to make a thread talking about how CR has changed and how it isn't socially active anymore.

I mean, it's not rocket science. If you're gone for 2-3 years... do you expect others to be here all the time or the site to remain the same?... of course they'd need to leave at some point, they've found lives, jobs, families etc.

________

I know I sound like a jerk, but really this is just my honest opinion.

I agree with this completely. Well said.

while i do agree with what gayasianboy said yes did leave for like 1 and a half years and i did change through out my tenure on the website and also when i was away but considering the fact that i was also on this site a little over 4 years consecutively i did manage to notice the user base on the site was changing drastically (from social networking to entertainment purposes (which i have no qualms with) i love the entertainment on this site!) but i also thinks its not fair to say i was what changed and not the site. Some some of the veterans of this website (i do not consider myself a veteran) will argue to the contrary stating that back before when CR had chat rooms and and the forums were much more chaotic there was way more socializing between users.

And also Flazedge easy with your CAPS i feel like you yelling at me. (there's no need to yell this is a civilized discussion lol.)

I've been on this site since.. well when it wasn't very legal lol. Yeah Crunchyroll has changed quite a bit and the social aspect at least for me has died down, not even sure if 99% of the people on my friend's list are even active anymore. I pretty much get on this site every day checking the forums and watching anime but I really don't have any friends on here which is sad. Probably my fault since I don't add anyone but I don't really like just randomly adding people. If anyone wants to be my friend feel free to add and chat with me lol, I'm a kinda normal person I think

Over the past 2 years that I've been here quite few things has change including myself , but "lets face it" people leave and come back all the time that how it works . Everyone at some people is gonna leave the website because they have things to worry about like get a job, college, family etc. If you ask me I have lost old friends and end up making news friends next so is nothing really to worry about

It would be more "social" if they didn't make up get 500CP before starting a topic.
I've been here for over a year and I'm still not allowed to post a topic.

I read the whole thing and you've been through a lot, my friend. It never dies out, it's just how you make it.

I read the entire thing.

I've never actually experienced anything like that before on online forums such as CR. I usually use this site to watch anime and once I am satisfied, I log off. I come back on again when I feel like watching more anime.

I started using this site in 2009 but didn't actually make an account until 2010. Like I said, I only use this site to watch anime but just recently I decided to be active in the Forums for the sole reason of boredom.

well my friend i really cant help you there other than to say just be more active (i dont even remember keeping tack of my cr points back when i started because i was so active in watching videos commenting and writing guestbooks post with people i had added you could always do that) plus that would also strengthen the social networking aspect of this site the more people active (besides just watching videos the better.

if u start doing that if u havent already youll get those points no problem

I'm not exactly a person with many friends, and haven't been here for long, but it certainly hasn't died off in these past 2 years atleast.

I can't find the page with information about CR Points but I think you get 500 for being subscribed for one month so you could just do that (I suspect that's also part of the reason for the 500 point limit).

I felt down after reading the original post but then I saw this Hidamari Sketch picture and it was all healed.

On the subject of the original post, I find CR to be sociable enough for me. That said, I'm mostly here to watch anime and occasionally spout nonsense on the forums.

I've been through various online communities over the years and I think you have to accept that it's not often going to be possible to "go back". All you can really do is move on and hope to find new friends when you need to (this kind of goes for the real-world too). It's often easier to make friends if you have a common interest (which online communities usually provide) but it's also more likely that you'll end up going your separate ways when your interests change. I don't think that's a bad thing really, though it can be difficult sometimes. It tends to get better when you find your next group of friends.

ooooh the need to be social....thank goodness I don't need it

Instead of complaining about your old friends why don't you try to make new ones?

Probably the old users (from 20 to 30 mostly) don't have too much time to spend with cyber friends due to real life responsibilities. I think the social aspect of this forum fits better with the young users who have nothing to worry about except for getting good grades in school or the super old ones (40+) who have their lives sorted out.

This is my experience at least I don't have time to make friends and sit in front of my computer sending messages to random people because...I have a life. I just come here, watch anime whenever I can and read some threads out of boredom for a few minutes then I'm off.
