Hey guys,

Anyone here on Fitocracy? I'm looking for more people to help motivate/get motivated by in regards to fitness/working out.

For those who don't know what Fitocracy is, it's a website where you track workouts. Each exercise nets you a certain amount of points, which you can use to level up like an RPG.

I just use a spreadsheet. I make a monthly target and either increase reps or intensity as needed when I hit my target. I also have longer term targets such as running the 40 in under 5.5 by the end of December. That particular goal is going to be difficult since I haven't sprinted yet since my achilles injury. I have started some acceleration and running but not to full speed.

Edit: Perhaps I will give it a try....maybe....

I am a pretty unmotivated and critical person, so I think I will try it for myself!

Hey PandaGamer, let me know if you make an account and PM me your profile link so we can follow each other.

And as for _0King0_, Mike Chang is a good youtube channel to watch if you've never done physical training before, but if you know what your fitness goals, have been working actively at them for years, then you're better off looking somewhere else.

I've been doing Kris Gethin's DTP for the past few weeks and have gotten good results.

PS: for motivation, i just watch scenes from Warrior(2011). Tom Hardy is a beast in that film.

What would be the best way to go about tracking my in-season weekly stair-climber workout... for that one I choose an NFL game and select a defense; while that defense is on the field my legs will be pumping. There is a lot of unpredictable starting and stopping that sound like it would be tedious to track. (I also don't see agility/mirror/reaction drills listed)

https://www.fitocracy.com/profile/GLB256/

I will try it out until I either stick with it or move back to my spreadsheet instead.

I don't get the pros to tracking workouts. I do my routine and that's it, going on an app or something to update what I know I completed just seems pointless and time consuming

In my case it is to have a log from which I can make adjustments to reps/sets/intensity (and in some cases protein intake) but in the context of that website where your workouts can be seen by others it adds a competitive angle as well.

Having a workout log, whether written or online, enables you to look back on your progress and make adjustments as you see fit. That lets you shock your muscles. It's not good to do months and months of the exact same excercises's reps/sets.

You can't honestly write down here on this forum that you remember exactly rep for rep what you did for back day two months ago on a Tuesday. That's what the log is for.

In addition to the planning benefits, it's also a way of holding yourself accountable. Numbers don't lie and take excuses at the end of the month when you tally how many days you were actice, vice being lazy.
