Since I finished that last episode, I have been feeling so sad and like I'm going to cry. This anime has hit home so hard. Not even the ending of Kill la Kill got me this emotional. I feel so horrible and as I write this I tear up. I'm in high school, so this really resonates with me. My time in high school is nothing like the one depicted in toradora. They all seem to talk a lot with each other and have relationships and lots of friends. I'm pretty socially inept so I never really got to experience study groups or chilling with friends outside of school. This isn't like me, I never feel this way. I don't cry, I haven't cried for years. This is embarrassing and sorry if this kind of post if frowned upon here, I just needed to tell someone about this.

Edit: I cried shortly after I clicked submit. Im such a wreck

Edit 2: Well I think I will watch Air. I already feel better due to you all's replies. Thanks

Um, there's nothing wrong with crying. I would say it's wrong to think there's anything wrong with crying.

I never wanted that show to end. You have to keep in mind though that anime is a idealization of real life, before you get sad that you never experienced the things you see in these shows. Of course you didnt. Most people dont. Most japanese kids have it even worse that we do over here, as far as social things go. Most kids spend their highschool careers struggling to stand out. But thats a whole nother subject.
Anyway, Toradora is FAR from the sadest anime ive seen, but it was still very touching. I wouldnt feel embaressed about crying at that particular ending.

Toradora was relatively happy from what I remember.

I think you should go watch some Air or Angel Beats to cheer you up.

Yea I thought it was pretty happy too, I'm just stricken by this uncontrollable sadness after watching it. There was so much crying in it anyway, so I guess my eyes decided to follow suit.

Yeah. Toradora got me all feely, but it didn't want to make me cry. And please no one freaking say Clannad. The series was garbage and betrayed the true intentions of the story. If you watch Clannad, watch the movie. Its 1000 times better than the garbage series. Air is a solid choice for a watch as it stays true to its premise 100% and its a solid delivery that will leave you satisfied while taking your tears. Angel Beats... Not sad at all, lets move on.

Toradora has all the feels! But pretty good ones towards the end. I just felt sad the anime ended. I wanted more and romance always leaves it in the open and it drives me mental! Lots of crying in that anime...just really made me want a rice cooker also.

Are you saying Clannad didn't stay true to its premise? Because I feel very strongly the opposite. If it had not ended the way it did, it would have betrayed the whole theme of the entire previous 2 seasons. Most people say the movie is garbage in comparison, rather. I havent seen it though so I cant give an opinion on it.

I really enjoyed toradora and I know the feels, if you were wanting another show kind of like it you should check out Nagi no asurka(a lull in the sea) if you haven't yet. Things they have in common: drama, love triangles, great story's, high school, relationship problems. The overall story isn't really that much a like, but they both are great dramas and love stories.

It's okay to cry. Proves you're human. Frankly I don't trust anybody who says they've never cried over anything. But I will give you fair warning do not watch Angel Beats or Clannad After Story as both left me in tears too.

I actually thought Air was pretty meh, compared to Angel Beats. I guess it's just preference.
