I really enjoyed toradora and I know the feels, if you were wanting another show kind of like it you should check out Nagi no asurka(a lull in the sea) if you haven't yet. Things they have in common: drama, love triangles, great story's, high school, relationship problems. The overall story isn't really that much a like, but they both are great dramas and love stories.

Seconded. Not because they're anything alike but because its great.

But more importantly, how did you combine Another and Chunibyo for that avatar?? Thats impressive.

Yeah after i posted that i was thinking they weren't that a like and it was more the fact they were great dramas.

And the avatar was something i found on tumblr and really liked it

It's okay to cry. Proves you're human. Frankly I don't trust anybody who says they've never cried over anything. But I will give you fair warning do not watch Angel Beats or Clannad After Story as both left me in tears too.

Yeah.... I cried the hardest in my life watching Clannad~After Story and probably not at a part where most do. In a way, the tears I had in Clannad~AS was probably close to his from Toradora. A moment of beauty is what shocked me, not the expected. Seeing friends living their happy lives when you know not of it is moving too, I posted an experience similar to it and kept deleting it. Just know I understand what you mean, original poster!

Anyways, yeah. If you thought Toradora was sad - I envy how many great dramas you can still watch. I full understand what got you in that romcom - but that same thing can be seen in plenty of actual dramas ><.

I did a marathon of Toradora last weekend, and I was surprised by how much I liked it. Not sure why I was surprised, but I didn't really know what I was getting in to. I think I randomly picked it up after reading a brief recommendation list. It was quite an emotional ride, and I'm not ashamed to say I cried more than once, and they weren't "manly tears", which is a phrase people seem to use to cover up their discomfort in admitting emotional reactions. It's one of those series I enjoyed so much, I'm pondering getting the complete DVD set. The only thing that holds me back is that it's like $100 at Right Stuf.

I started this anime sometime last month. I know a lot of people love this anime but I just couldn't get into it. I think I'm on episode 4 or smth. I will give it a chance. Also, it's the same with Angel Beats. I will also give it a chance. Right now I'm into Nagi no Asukara. I have 4 episodes left. And man, the feels on that one. Anyway, sorry for the off-topic comment. I'll carry on with Toradora and Angel Beats soon.

Are you saying Clannad didn't stay true to its premise? Because I feel very strongly the opposite. If it had not ended the way it did, it would have betrayed the whole theme of the entire previous 2 seasons. Most people say the movie is garbage in comparison, rather. I havent seen it though so I cant give an opinion on it.

Nagisa dies and stays dead. Dead is dead, I don't like rezzes.

Jeeze man, not cool. What did Nagisa ever do to you?

I cry when an anime ends and is impactful, regardless of it being happy or sad. I might even say that the amount of tears I cry is an effective metric of an anime's quality. Two great choices for happy tears are EF: A Tale of Memories, and Hourou Musuko Wandering Son.

Yeah. Toradora got me all feely, but it didn't want to make me cry. And please no one freaking say Clannad. The series was garbage and betrayed the true intentions of the story. If you watch Clannad, watch the movie. Its 1000 times better than the garbage series. Air is a solid choice for a watch as it stays true to its premise 100% and its a solid delivery that will leave you satisfied while taking your tears. Angel Beats... Not sad at all, lets move on.

I actually thought Air was pretty meh, compared to Angel Beats. I guess it's just preference.

Go to NIS America to get in the U.S. The prices are better there .They recently discounted the Collector's Edition . Has 4 blu-rays & 4 dvds , an art book and a limited edition poster . Or you can buy just the dvds or blu-rays . They are also dubbed . I had to the that C.E. & split it with my sister . If you watch Angel Beats , be warned ! Episode 3 on - get the tissues ready to catch your man-tears ...I married my palm top tiger .

After the first episode with the farting fish knee, i was creeped the hell out.

Ive watched a few more episodes past that but it hasnt kept my interest, ive never had this issue with an anime but i just can't suspend my belief enough to enjoy it.

Looking aroumd for other good animes

I think the only thing truly sad about Toradora was Ami being rejected This comes with very good reason as I think she was most deserving.

Ryuji's issues were that he just refused to accept the good things that he did have and Taiga's situation was more unfortunate than anything. Sad, yes but I dunno about crying so much over it. That said we all react to shows and stories different ways and I certainly have cried watching some shows where someone would question my own reaction.
