iOS updates breaking everything under the sun is par for the course.

They really don't take after Microsoft when it comes to caring about compatibility at all.

Yeah this problem has been around for ages, it seems there is little to no chance of fixing it. If they had the ability to fix it then it would have been done by now.

1) Device type - iPad Mini 2
2) OS version - 8.1
3) App version - reinstall november 2nd 2014
4) Detailed description of the problem. The ads wont skip after pressing the Skip Ad button. A one minute ad takes 5 minutes to finish and then freeze with a blackscreen. It's a repetitive problem...
5) Steps to reproduce the problem - Happens everytime ads pop up

Same problem. Very frustrating :(
Here are my details:

1) Device type - iPad 2
2) OS version - 8.1
3) App version - reinstall november 2nd 2014...and I tried deleting crunchy roll and reinstalling...still same problem.
4) Detailed description of the problem. The ads wont skip after pressing the Skip Ad button. A one minute ad takes 5 minutes to finish and then freeze with a blackscreen. It's a repetitive problem...

I suppose this is happening to people who are not Premium Members, correct? It could be a problem with the new iOS because my first-gen iPad runs on iOS 6 and it still runs fine. Then again, I'm also a PM.

Yes it looks like only non PM's that are running the new iOS are having this issue. I just hope this isn't CRs attempt at a money grab by not fixing it and forcing people who might not be able to afford it in to having to purchase memberships or go with another program/service.

It's only been four days since the last post, and I didn't want to spam with a new thread. :3

Is anyone else still having this problem? I am, but when it comes to the Kindle Fire app I'm fine. I don't know what it's like on the browser because I'm having problems with my computer.

I'm still having problems with my iPad and iPhone (both having ios 8.1)

I'm seriously doubting there will ever be a fix.

Spending the money on a paid membership is pointless in my case as I don't have the bandwidth to watch enough to make it worth it (never mind not being able to pay for the extra bandwidth). Guess it's time to go elsewhere........

If you are having this issue please log in and post a reply. They are losing valuable as revenue and will be interested if enough people show that they are having an issue. View rates can fluctuate for a lot of reasons. If it's something they can fix they will only do it if they are losing enough money on thier free accounts. But then maybe they are getting good results in terms of new people paying for no ads.

It's not Apple's fault, it's the developer's fault for not updating their app. So specifically, it's crunchyroll's fault. I'm sure they could use another timer API to fix the problem.


If they had the ability to fix it then it would have been done by now.


In their opinion, they don't owe anything to the free users, so they can take their time.

Well, some people don't have the money anyway, so it would be a failed attempt. In my opinion, it just makes me frustrated and I would never pay for premium. Why? Because of the way they treat the free users!

My honest opinion is that they need to focus a little less on the marketing, and a little more on the service.

As for the black screen issue: It seems that Time Warner's DNS service is faulty, which results in Time Warner customers not being able to resolve the IPs of our services properly.

Switching to a public DNS service, such as Google's, should work as a fix.

Crunchy has updated the app and this has fixed my problem, i'm glad it is finally resolved
