The ending was a big misunderstanding and yet people still hate Slaine.

I believe Inaho has to be dead for a truly compelling season 2. Basically all of the sane characters have been killed off at this point.

I'm also beginning to wonder now if the name Duecalion has more significance to this show. Duecallion was the son of Promethues, the Titan that gave Humanity fire and could see the future. He saved Humanity like Noah did by building a box/ark. However, his wife pyrrha was the Daughter of Epimethius, a Titan who could only see the past.

It seems like we have at least a couple of characters who are stuck looking at the past unable to move forward. However, I don't know who the character(s) would be who are looking into the future. Perhaps Slaine's father who we haven't seen yet would be the Prometheus character, while Saazbaum or the Emperor would be the Epimethius character.

Anyway, its going to be a long wait until January...

No, it wasn't a misunderstanding. It was Slaine being pushed past the breaking point.

The show is kinda about how war turns good idealist people into monsters.

You could term it a misunderstanding, but only because Slaine never tried to understand. His character is based on reacting to a situation and not thinking. It just seemed like the kind of misunderstanding you see in Shoujo romance all of the time, a few words would have cleared it up.

No, I think Slaine understood perfectly. "Orange". "Bat".

It's the understanding that broke Slaine. He'd just failed to protect the princess by saving Sazbaum's life, after being shot at by Terrans and being rescued by Vers.

And now there's that asshole who shot him down once crawling towards "his" woman. There's jealousy and hostility involved, on top of isolation and not knowing who to trust.

Slaine isn't a bad man. He is, however, a tragic character.

I can't help but see Slaine as one of those character's that goes with their heart in any situation. I do have to agree with the earlier comment though. I can agree with your comment as well.

Slaine thought what he did was the right thing by not killing Saazbaum. The guy got when him mentioned how his wife was killed and then Slaine's father(possible mistake) saved his life. Slaine felt sorry for him and then went along with it. Once he shot Asseylum, shit just hit the fan and I am pretty sure Slaine blames himself for that. And yes Slaine did not know what happen between Asseylum and Inaho which caused some sort of misunderstand with a side of anger. I'm not knocking what you mentioned though.

Sorry if this sounds weird.

Man, I have spent an entire day defending Slaine and am tired now. I will continue to defend him. His childhood is over and he has nurdered his rival. Can't wait to see what happens to him next because he may have just become a villain.

Well that sucked. Inaho was about the only reason I watch this show.

If he's not around for season two, I probably won't be either.

Oh no, it's not weird at all. I suspect we're mostly agreeing but express it a bit differently.

I'm very curious to see what Slaine will do now. He's a normally well-meaning fellow put in an impossible situation, there's litterally no good path for him to follow from now on.

Thank you.

At first, I wasn't even sure how to feel about Slaine, even though he suffered a lot of crap. After a while I just wanted his to get to the Asseylum with little to no casualties. I am very curious about what will happen to him in the second season. And you are right too.
