Though I just recently know what shoujo means... I think I love shoujo manga.. well considering shoujo means girl so I hope I'm right when saying I like girl's manga.. just a bit curious is there anyone else bothered by the fact there's no "小男” (shoutan)?? in the japanese dictionary.. Is there really no such thing as little boy?

I got into the Shoujo genre this summer. I actually like it. Ao Haru Ride got me hooked! I am not sure if Madoka Magica counts as a Shoujo, but I liked that too! Oh, and if my picture isn't self-explanatory enough that I am a male, then yes, I am a male, haha.

Linguistically:

boy <---> girl
3 alternatives:
shounen <---> shoujo
danshi <---> joshi
otoko no ko <---> onna no ko

otome means maiden, can be used for just girl too, there's no male counterpart word

man <---> woman
otoko no hito <---> onna no hito

i've known for a while that guys also read shoujo, but i still haven't found a male shoujo mangaka. Which makes Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun so entertaining XD

Omg I love shoujo! Recently i've read so many manga's and most of them are shoujo. I read ao haru no ride in two days and caught up. I could have finished in 1 days, but I go to school, so yea. That manga has 40 something chapters and 50 pages! Dude, you gotta give me props to that. And I also like Horimiya, so cute. Right now I'm reading Last game, it's cute and all, but i'm really expecting for the climax.

I don't know if this is shoujo but yamada kun and the seven witches and the world only god knows are pretty good. They're my favourites! A long with Ao haru ride.

As an old ass guy I enjoy reading some stories that are called shoujo but I tend to be quite omnivorous in what I sample. I disregard classifications. When I find a good story I read it; ignoring any label stuck on it by publishers or fans. I only have so much free time and money to spend on manga so I only look for the best story and don't care what others call them.

There have been Shoujo I've enjoyed, however as a whole I wouldn't say I like the genre.

The art style that persists through most with the overly long faces and way to many eyelashes really bothers me and I just can't relate to most of whats going on.
