Synopsis

People are not born equal, a realization that 4-year old Midoriya Izuku faced when bullied by his classmates who had unique special powers. Izuku was one of the rare cases where he was born with absolutely no unique powers. This did not stop Izuku from pursuing his dream, a dream of becoming a great hero like the legendary All-Might. To become the great hero he hopelessly wants to become, he now will join the ranks of one of the highest rated "Hero Academies" in the country: Yueiko. With the help of his idol All-Might, will he be able to claim the ranks and become a true hero?

It really bothers me that this series hasn't been translated beyond the first chapter, especially considering its impressive rankings in WSJ. Hell, I don't think I've even heard anything from our English Jump with respect to this series. Horikoshi's been an underdog of sorts; his first major manga, Oumagadoki Doubutsuen (or Oumazoo) is considered an under appreciated gem, and his second big series, Barrage, got cut ridiculously short. Hopefully this will finally be his big success.

I read the 6 chapters I could find on it yesterday. It's pretty great. I think it moves a little slow, perhaps, but hopefully that means he's planning on it being a long-runner.

And I love that they made All Might a recurring character. I thought he would be a one-scene wonder of sorts, or simply an ideal to chase. But nope, he's there and he's hilarious lol.

The art is funny. Sometimes it's amazing and sometimes it's sketchy, or like really overbearing in a sense (not sure how to put it). He makes good use of classic superhero shoutouts, with English action text and whatnot.

Also, he pays a lot of attention to detail with tactics and realistic (for the premise) applications of the superpowers everyone has. There's also little bits here and there in the art that follows suit.

But yeah, I'll see how it develops from here. I think there's a scanlation team finally doing proper work on it now. The last few chapters have all been uploaded in the last 2 weeks.

This manga has some of my favorite artwork from any Shonen that I have read. The story is going pretty slow so far but it has still been an interesting read. I'm looking forward to Chapter 7 whenever it gets translated.

Seems cool but it's to early to tell if it's going to be a successor to Nartuo, or a competitor for bleach or one piece.
Still I got to love the setting and artwork, kind of reminds me of one punch man. I hope the author makes more villains appear, I am interested to what kind of motives they will have and stuff.

Bleach is not a competitor for anything at this point its so poorly rated that its surprising that it hasnt been axed yet.. Ranking wise My hero acadamia is better.

It's an interesting concept (albeit well overdone) so far it's overall "Okay". The pacing could be a better, and it seems like Hroikoshi knows that he's doing this time around (I hope). Though I feel that unless he makes this into a really action packed battle manga, I get the lingering feeling it won't last all too long. But lets hope that it's here to stay.

Its really popular in Japan; look at its initial sales on the Ocaron chart; 79k. No manga has ever done that well for volume 1 since Assassination Classroom. This series will be a sticker, will have an anime announced in a year and be selling over 600k per volume in two. My predictions

This manga is really amazing! Love how the influence from the USA heroes is depicted in the artstyle. Too early maybe to be the next Naruto, but expecting big things for this series.
