Wow, some really good artists in this group! I like your drawing Homer. Thanks for the tip about uploading too.

My art style is similar to yours Gnu. Although, on occasion, I use color. However, I depend mostly on shading.

What's everyone's favorite stuff to draw?

Do you have any other drawings? It would be awesome to see more art from MS Paint or Photoshop.

I do have some of my Paint abominations in the photo section of my profile. I have several more, but most don't do well as standalones. They need to be seen within the context of the blog entries I use them in to make any sense.

Interesting. I'll have to check some of those out then. I love seeing the creative things people come up with.

Wow I'm envious, a lot of talented artists in this group. I never really had the aptitude or patience for drawing.

You never really know. If you put your mind to it one day, you might surprise yourself. That's what I found out in High School. I used to draw terrible stick figures up until about 14. Then one day I thought, "hey, I want to try and draw that picture". It was a really simple design of a humanoid dog face I saw online but it turned out half way decent.

I tried other drawings and more complex ones over time. Now I'm alright it. Don't put yourself down if you ever want to try it in the future.

Yeah, I find anime much easier than anything else. It's usually 2D with simpler lines/shading. Trying to make 3D art with pencil can be frustrating but one of my favorite aspects of drawing is shading. I can be quite the masochist, haha

Have you guys ventured much into other types of drawings or do you just stick to anime?

Well tbh, I have tried to draw and improve and overall I'd say I have improved a little bit. But I'm (like many others) very critical of my work and often I back out part way through when it's not up to my expectations. Also it's a bit of a conflicted interest but if it ever gets out of that status it'll be something I try to improve upon to a decent level.

You draw more than you let on then. If you are comfortable, you should post one of yours too. Like Gnu said, no (negative) judgement here. Maybe you'll be better than you think!

Actually M33ga i have tried drawing a few real life things, a bird, a stuffed animal, and i did draw a person once. (But tbh the person ended up looking anime) i might post the bird or the person if i can find them just to show something i can do other than anime.

I can't really draw Anime, especially since other variations of animation have had a larger impact on my childhood (Hanna-Barbera, especially), though I'm sure I can doodle something and have it claimed as such. Not surprising, either, since Anime was inspired by American cartoons, as I am sure many of you are quite aware of. Basically, it all blends together, and the only true exceptions tend to be those who strive for absolute realism or something bording upon (if not fully embracing) surrealism.

As for judgment, there are some who do actually benefit from negative criticism, but that's best reserved for those who wish to specialize in art, and, even then, only for those requesting such advice to hone an already well-developed talent. In other typed words, post whatever you want here, regardless of how you perceive its quality, as this thread's tone and purpose is merely one's expression in the most light-hearted manner. That would also mean if you don't want to show drawings, then try posting poems, music, jokes, photography, et cetera. A simple way to do this is with a collage. You don't make the actual art included within it, but there is something you wish to tell others, and it's amazing how one can take all sorts of seemingly unconnected bits from numerous resources and have them say the same thing in one instance. Art within art. *blanks out* I'm rambling, and I don't even know if what I'm typing adheres to this discussion anymore. Ugh.

tl;dr

I love dogs, candy corn, and rainbows. Somebody create me something adorably sweet and colorful, please, for my desktop background image. I've been using a Diablo III one for too long now. It's the one with that island city... I can't remember names very well. It's pretty, but I want sumthin' new. I love colors.
