I drew something (I think) before I went to bed. Mom came to visit for Yom Kippur and knitted me this swell cap. Since I'm disgusting, here's a new picture of my parents' dogs I took while I'm staying at dad's place for a month:

That's an interesting picture you drew. You seem pretty good at catching proper angles and proportioning. That's with pen too, quite impressive. My doodles never turn out like that. :)

I think it's awesome your mom knitted you a cap. I knew someone who knitted me a scarf. It's too bad I live in Florida cause I never got the opportunity to wear it, haha.

The dogs are cute, though the one laying on the rug does not seem to be amused with getting its picture taken, haha. The one on the left seems interested though.

I lived in WPB, FL for 21 years... wait. 21 years? 22? Maybe 22... ahem, for over twenty years. I love the hot weather, but I moved after the third hurricane in the same season left my home in shambles. Now I'm in Virginia. Far less traffic to worry about, but the cold weather irritates me. Snow looks so magical that I ran out to touch it for the first time. My hands immediately went numb, so it felt like nothing. I also discovered that there is nothing good about it: Falling on my ass, digging out my car, constantly having co-workers call out from work, and plenty of other problems. Still better here than South Florida.

When I draw with a pen, if I make a mistake, I just change the plan and draw more. More mistakes, more compensation. That goblin is a complete mess of botched ideas.

Chance is the alpha male of his litter, so he is always in front. Cooper is the runt. They are Brussels Griffons (aka "Monkey dogs"), and my parents paid a lot for them. Still do. If I get my own dog, he's going to be a mutt from the pound. I hope to find one mixed with a pug and call him Guzibu Von Shnoot, but I love all dogs. Allergic to cats, though I'd snuggle the shit out of one if I found out he didn't lick himself. (I'm allergic to the cat's saliva) I wish pets were not so expensive. I'd get a dog now if I could afford the bugger.

WPB huh? I have a great Aunt over there that I visit on occasion. It's a nice place but definitely got hit. Her condo was ruined many years ago but luckily insurance helped fix it. You'd never know now. I live on the other side of Florida though and we haven't had too many issues with Hurricanes, especially in like, the last decade. Virginia huh? I still haven't seen snow yet but you don't make it sound appealing, haha. I just want one snow ball fight, to build a snow man and possibly an igloo, and then I'll be set for life. I also almost got a job in PA but that didn't turn out so I'm still working here. Why do you still like it over Florida, just curious?

And that is a good way to draw, unfortunately, I don't feel terribly creative when my work doesn't look the way I intend. I usually just end up down on myself and go back to what I'm better at... probably not the best solution. What did you originally mean to draw?

Wow, I didn't realize that that is what they were. I have seen dogs similar though. I always adopt from the humane society. My current dog is from there and is a mix. She's quirky for sure. I'm also allergic to cats but it is the dander in the fur. My allergies are not so bad now, so I could probably get one so long as it didn't sleep on my face or something. Pets can be expensive. It helps if they are health though and some places give their yearly shots at discounted rates like at Petco/Petsmart or whichever one it is. At least, it is that way in Florida.

I work a crummy job in Virginia. In South Florida, I couldn't even get that. Prices are high here, but , man, were they exorbitant in West Palm. What's the justifcation for that? Because everything is near the beach? Sick of the beach. Went there every weekend during the summer breaks with the family. The rest of the week my brother and I would sit inside and play Monopoly or watch reruns. It got to the point where we'd roll a number and habitually teleported the piece to the spot immediately. No need to count the spaces anymore. Of course, I played video games. Florida's traffic bothered me the most. A thirty-minute trip took one or two hours. Everyone has to rubberneck even though an accident occurred literally every day. They saw one just yesterday! What is everyone expecting to see? Bodies? As if the police would be so careless as to leave one lying out in plain sight for idiots to gawk at. Lastly, I can afford my own place up here. $1000+ rent for a shithole in Florida. I'm paying $420 a month here to actually own my current place. I rather own than rent.

Yeah, WPB is expensive but there are areas of Florida that aren't as pricey as that. I'm pretty sure West Palm is more expensive than Naples and that is also a more expensive place to live. I do understand though, the closer to the beach/gulf you get the higher the prices. I'd have a hard time living on my own with my current wages but not impossible. Though certainly not as cheap as what you are getting.

You are right about rubbernecking, that bothers me also but for other unrelated reasons.

However, I do like Florida. I don't do well in cold weather. My roommates joke that I couldn't live anywhere else cause I get cold in our apartment at 72 degrees and even wear my hoodies in summer. But I don't know if I'd want to always live here. I'm a bit torn so for now I am letting circumstance dictate what I'm doing. When I almost got that job in PA my roommate said she didn't think I could handle it and she would throw ice cubes at me if I got. She said I'd need to at least be able to handle that much cold, haha.

May I ask what you do for work? I am curious.

I work a grocery store deli/bakery as a back-up department head. I make enough to live on my own, indulge in my hobbies, and pay extra to all my bills so that I have a month of credit all year round just in case costs go up without warning or if I ever have a financial emergency. I already paid off all my loans and my car. Guess I don't have a good reason to find work elsewhere right now.

As for the cold weather, if you read my profile, then you know I'm the same way with temperature. I always wear a jacket. During the winter, I typically wear two, and... that reminds me. I need to buy two pairs of oversized pants so that I can fit a small pair inside each one so that I have two on at all times when I am outside during the winter. I double-layer all I wear. I'm used to the weather to the extent of how to prepare for it. I don't think I will ever be accustomed to the actual cold. On the plus side, I'm barely ever sick. Never once called out from work. I haven't suffered from a fever or thrown up for over a decade now. Guess the cold weather isn't affecting me too much. Just a lot of shivers.

That is definitely an interesting piece you got going there. I am anxious to see it finished. I apologize for that sounding generic, but I am genuinely intruigued by what it's going to be when it is complete.
