Been over 2 weeks, no fix.
Been days now with no more responses.
No official announcement.
No status updates other than "we're working on it" and "unable to give any further information".

Anyone know of a way to report this to apple?
May sound harsh, but at this point I'm considering their ios manga app almost like fraud and deciding whether to report it as such if it's possible.

After all.....it doesn't work.........people are paying for it to work........and there's no adequate signs showing that it will work in a timely manner.
Next week I'll probably downgrade my sub. More than pissed off for being charged for premium access when the manga portion hasn't been available on my 'supported device' for half a sub period.

This sounds like what was happening with the Roku for CR. It might take a while but they're working on it. But if it's really like the Roku it would take a year to get the new app but I doubt it will take that long...

I don't really think Apple will care if we report and and say consult Crunchyroll

I doubt Apple is concerned about non-Apple apps.

The thing is, I can't say the manga app is a complete failure, because that's only true on one of my devices; it works on the others. Not that this is acceptable, because if you do only have one device, it's a complete failure. Let's just hope a fix comes out soon.

Apple would have a concern about subscriptions handled through the app since it would be going through them (if I remember correctly the sub fee is processed through them if you set up a sub through that app instead of on cr's site).
That's the part I'm saying.

I'm curious to know what devices are people using? I didn't have any trouble with the app after updating to iOS 8 on my 4th generation iPad.

The main issue I find with the app is that it still doesn't support double page spreads., otherwise it works fine.

Mini retina here too, but it's a moot point for me. I have no plans to continue a sub for CR manga when there's far better choices out there that actually work.
I'm not a fan of how CR gives us the mushroom treatment when things don't go right either. Doesn't build a good relationship, and certainly doesn't build trust. All they had to do is keep us updated on an estimated time of a fix, and throw a little extension on our subs as an apology. But no, they give us a one line "We're working on it! :)" and call it good. Well that's lovely. The cutie pie smiley face really helps smooth things over. I work hard for my money, and I resent pissing it into the wind.

iPhone 5S and an iPad Air.
Same problem with both and both running latest version of iOS8.

Devices:

iPad Air - crashes immediately
iPad Mini (1st generation) - works fine except can't logout
iPhone 4S - works fine

All are running iOS 8.0.2.

As I said above, the manga app problems go back a little further than iOS 8. I recall sending a support email back in June or July about logout problems, notifications not working, pages of manga and/or entire manga not loading/displaying properly, odd error messages, and occasional crashes. Perhaps I'm naive, I don't know, but I'm giving CR the benefit of the doubt that all of these problems are being worked on. I have a week or so before my all-access sub renews, so we'll see.

So it appears older model devices running iOS8 still work with some minor issues basically?

Seriously Crunchyroll, there is no excuse for this. the betas were available since WWDC, and people reported crashes before the final release. We are nearing the month point now and there is no real update yet.

Guys it doesnt help to complain about this. They most likely dont even read this topic. They will probably update it when theyre done fapping. Untill then just pirate the stuff. Horrible scans is a good choise if you still want crunchy scanlations

Pirating is just what I won't do. It might sound sanctimonious, but if I can't pay, I don't read (or watch). Simple as that. I'd give up on these manga before I went down that road. At any rate, people here are just expecting to get what they paid for, in a timely manner. Nothing wrong with that.

I actually dont see what the problem with it is. I live in a third world country where the internet is über bad. I do pay for a full access crunchyroll account but with the internet here you cant really stream anything. So I download horriblesubs to watch the anime at 1080p. I am now doing the same with the manga. I still pay for it but in order to consume it I need to download. The way I see it, crunchyroll is losing absolutely nothing in the process since they do not lose any money by me pirating their stuff since they still get my subscription money. In fact they are saving money by not needing to provide me with the bandwidth needed to stream it.
