the talk about Oculus isn't really new. i'm sure all gamers have heard of it at least once.
now back to the topic, i am really exicted to buy one and when the Oculus 5 comes out in the future i'm can live in my own virtual world :)

This is the first I've heard about it! I just won an Xbox One in a Marlboro contest, which freaking AMAZED Me. I wonder how much these will Cost?

Not much, just your soul.

Psshhhht. I figured as much.

Malboro contest?

Were you smoking tobacco as a contest entry?

I'm part of the Website. When I go to collect My Monthly coupons, it has these Other Campaigns and such. I won it off the Codes they would put on some Boxes of Cigarettes and You take it Home and enter it in the Site. WINNER WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER!

Try google cardboard if you already have a supported smartphone that runs android. There's also apps out there that can stream games into your phone for the vr experience. Just not as good as oculus.

Chyeaahhhh, I know right! I've found $365 bucks on the ground before; I got this Special Edition Louisville Slugger that Costs more than the XBOX...Won that by being the 15th Caller to this AM Radio station. I also found a half-carat Diamond ring set in White Gold that I gave to My Mother Years ago.

For something that is going to be so in your face it is going to need a higher resolution. 1080p is too pixelated for being so close to the eye even with 16x AA. Manufacturing processes need to become cheaper for 4k displays to really make this thing great.

Thinking ahead I know of some prerequisite technologies for nervous interfacing that is currently in development by various groups (including DARPA- mostly for prosthetic purposes) that look promising and that is just what has been declassified... I believe a true VR experience may actually be quite possible but I'm not sure I would trust our dysfunctional FCC to ensure the safety of such things. New technologies sometimes require new regulatory bodies.

It all has to start somewhere and I want Oculus and others to succeed in a big way because there is no greater motivation for those with the resources to make it happen than money. If the HMDs can find a solid market development will speed up.

I was very hyped for the Rift since its Kickstarter but as longer i followed as more i lost interest.
It seems not powerful enough the resolution on each eye is not high enough to really be useful for games.
Well and after Facebook bought it i lost interest completely.
My new hope is Sony with its Morpheus
http://time.com/31869/sonys-project-morpheus-virtual-reality-headset-10-things-to-know/

Only a headset will not be anough anyways tho there were other Projects on Kickstarter which were aiming to use your body as the controller.

Some users in an on-line racing simulator I run are using it. Pretty neat to just turn your head to look at the car beside you.
