This isn't troll bait and don't take it as such. Just read before you post!

The new iPhone 6 Plus is made in a aluminium body. Apple made a good and a bad move when they decided to make a phone in aluminium.

Let's start whit the good sides of using aluminium in a phone. Aluminium is one of the coolest metals out there, meaning that it will be avail to keep itself cool whitout the need of hardware limitations due to heating problems.

And let's end whit the bad sides of aluminium. Aluminium may be one of the coolest metals out there... However, it's also one of the softest metals out there. So what do I mean by that? Well it's rather simple, if a aluminium object is large enought but has a slim form factor then you can bend it whit the pressure of your hands.

And this has made some iPhone's bend in some peoples pockets. I've included a video below where you can see the iPhone being bent.

Sorry for my rant, but yeah it had to be said. And it's with not whit, but that's just an honest mistake

Technology sucks. I hate it all. And before people ask "Well technology means anything made" yeah I know. I hate it.

The iPhone 6 is a perfect example of why society and humanity is so deep down the rabbit hole. Some guy stood on line for 16 days for a phone. A phone. A stupid, stupid, little phone. For what? Would he wait on line 16 days for groceries? For a MetroCard? For a magical cure to world ailments? Nope. Just for a phone. Something more people can strain their eyes to while having brain cells obliterated by continuous texting, searching up hipster restaurants, and apps.

It's too much now. Whatever happened to a landline, a phonebook, and actually living as a society?

I think you're hating people rather than technology. I make that mistake sometimes too.

No I like people. I'm not a misanthrope or anything. There's still good in this world, but I think technology is making us something we're not.

In my opinion, leaving the whole people vs. technology out, this is extremely bad design.
While I indeed understand the material choice for practical things like heat dissipation, when spending a huge amount of money for an item meant to be used as part of your daily activities you would expect it to be sturdy.

Especially since weaknesses like these can (and likely will) drastically shorten the life expectancy of your device by putting extra pressure on both the internal hardware as well as the glass touchscreen.

I am really curious as to how Apple will respond to this, because from what I have read on several other sites about this issue; People seem to have been charged for the repairs already.

So you're hating on technology and want it gone? If it wasn't for technology, we would be living in caves to this day.

Posting a rant about technology on a board on the internet on a site that has video streaming for all mobile devices, pc, mac, consoles, etc.
Stay classy my friend.

Ok, the bashing stops here.

From here on we keep to the main topic of this thread.

As for the phone, I'm not especially big on phones since I use mine for texting and calls in desperate situations and that's really it, but even then I'm not that surprised to see something like this happen. Not only are things generally built worse these days, but Apple always struck me as the company that made computer tech a fashion accessory. Something that's in one year, and then dies so you can buy the next model. Not that I agree with build quality of that level though. I just looked it up and for something costing £100, that's a disgusting move to pull.

Any idea if the iPhone 6 is made of aluminum? Or just the plus? That was a crap idea. I hope they don't make the next models in the same material.

Guys at apple, "what if, we get the iphone and make it longer"

and people go crazy.

Seriously these guys are copying Nintendo, introducing the new 3DS... its bigger

This is where Samsung won though with their flexible OLED display

When I saw it I kinda thought it was funny as that is the reason why I don't like the idea of thin phones/tablets/handheld gaming devices.
All my tablet/phone devices doesn't matter if it was IOS or android ended up in some of the bulkiest cases I could find. Some over doubled the weight and thickness of it.
My new iPad air that I bought in July lasted 2 weeks and then needed to be replaced due to a known fault which people have linked to it's thinness.
I personally think bending and other thinness related problems will start appearing more and more. Specially if this mine is lighter and thinner then yours Apple V Samsung war keeps up.
All it takes is a tiny part to snap/crack in a motherboard/screen etc and you have yourself a paperweight. Just hope whoever you bought it from has a good return policy if it does.

I value longevity and low price so this is the last phone I would buy. I think it's a huge design flaw.

Well my question is why would you want to bend your phone? If you took care of it and be responsible it shouldn't be a problem
