I never go to walmart or target. Both of them make me dizzy and I instantly get a headache right after stepping in a walmart. Never understood why XD I love Costco, though, I won't lie! Costco is great!! :O

Yep.. Exactly what I'm saying lol. Maybe it is the lighting or something.. I have no idea. lol.

I am not really comfortable there because..
A few years back I was shopping with my father at Walmart, and an employee there fell and went into a seizure RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. Some of you might be like 'really? I seen worst.' Well I don't really see seizures happen on a 24/7 basis, okay. I was pretty scared and I couldn't even sleep that night.
Anyway when I go there I have that memory and I start to feel uncomfortable.
I prefer Tar Jay! (Target)

There is a store less than a minute drive from my apartment, but I will go somewhere else to shop for groceries. There is a local grocery chain that is much, much cheaper than Wal-mart. For example, a box of rice crackers I like is $2.98 at Wal-mart. At my grocery store, it's $1.99, and is often on sale for $1.79. That's $1 just with one item. In general, I have never liked Wal-mart. Sam Walton had a great idea, but it became the symbol to many of what 'murica looks like.

A small neighborhood Walmart isn't bad. But the large one sucks

I tend to pay more shopping at Target than I do buying at Walmart. That's where I base my observation of cheap groceries. Their niche is after all to cater to the poor.

Sure, most people make their judgments that way. That's one of the reasons why consumer sovereignty is a myth, because of information asymmetries. Another is one you've touched upon: market outcomes do not necessarily reflect the preferences of consumers since at least some consumers will have no alternative options. A poor person who buys food from Walmart isn't endorsing Walmart with that purchase, they're endorsing not starving to death.

What interesting responses! Around here the Walmarts are located in the upper middle class neighborhoods. They are clean and very organized. In wonder if it depends in what state you live in.

A place where there are 20+ cash registers, but only less than two are open. Other than that, it's one depressing place.

Oh I hate that and have seen it happen with other stores as well. I actually work at Target as a cart attendant and Target doesn't have a problem with this(well where I work). Whenever registers get backed up, we call for back up to help minimize the long lines.

As someone who works there I personally find it very odd and awkward half the time and to be honest half the time people at walmart don't even speak english
