Who gives a fuck what people think but i generally don't talk about it unless it comes up in a discussion. I don't get why people tend to think that people who watch anime are "freaks" while on the other hand, they're proud to watch 'Pretty Little Liars' Lol. EMBRACE WHAT YA WATCH BABY!

Why would You be a Fan of Something SO ENTIRELY AWESOME...Only to keep it to Yourself...?

Screw the Masses. I bleed Crunchyroll Orange, and I LOVE Anime.

And with that Statement, that means EVERYTHING in which it entails. The following, the subculture...ALL of it.

And I couldn't be Happier about it! <3

...yep, definitely in the closet. >.>

Really tho, I feel appalled by the thought of hiding my love. People don't like me because I like something "weird"? Fine by me, less people to deal with.

Personally, the older I got, especially in High School I became more private with my love for Anime and Drama's and the only people who knew were my siblings and mother.

This Forum is for anime/drama fans who are still in the closet, talk about why you don't want to be public with it and if you were in the closet what made you finally express yourself freely?

I used to be like that because I knew my mates would take the piss. But since I moved I realized that there is no point in worrying about it. If those people make a deal about you liking it then you obviously don't want to be friends with them anyway so it kinda eliminates the people you don't need i your life anyway. I don't make it a public display but if someone mentions something around the lines of anime then I just tell them straight up and already met some people I can talk to about anime.

I suppose my watching anime is very private. I hadn't planned on hiding it. I only got to watch the odd show or two when I was a teen then I didn't see anything for years. I just don't know many people interested in watching anime so I don't get to talk about it.

I like to keep the things I like a secret. Mainly because the people at my school look down on people who like anime.

Hmm.. I don't specifically keep it a secret/don't talk about it.. But it isn't specifically something I talk about unless someone asks/says something about it.. Or sometimes if I am talking about what I was doing, I might say something about watching anime.. All depends lol.

In high school, I never spoke of it.

But now, I'll only bring up my love for anime if someone else does first.

If the topic came up "favorite tv show" or "what do you watch?" I'll mention some of my favorite anime. However just how I get annoyed when nobody can stop talking about the latest episode of Game of Thrones, I usually stay quiet about what's actually going on in a given show.

I've found that most people I've become friends with were at least open to watching anime, but everyone has wildly different tastes. It's one of those things where I can usually recommend a show that someone will end up liking, and a few of my friends that once hated the concept of anime have started to branch off finding different things they enjoyed. Even then however, our discussions with anime have been largely about if we like or don't like certain shows, but almost never have I actually had a conversation about something happening within the show.

I know a ton of people that watch anime so I'm able to express the fact that I watch it rather freely. In fact, I even managed to get some of my friends into anime. I'm not really sure why people feel the need to be private with it, if people frequently express how much they love A Fault in Our Stars, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Gotham, Frozen, etc. why can't anime fans express their love for what they like without the fear of being judged? I do not hesitate to share my anime watching habits with others if they act like I live under a rock because I haven't seen the handful of mainstream movies that they are talking about.
