The Karen Senki page doesn't work. Brings you to a 404 page. Please fix this as I am really interested in checking this one out. Thanks.

Which of these shows have you secured for the entire season and which ones have you secured for one episode while you continue negotiations?

Are Fate/Stay Night and Your Lie in April coming???

CR will NOT actually tell you yes or no until they announce it.

That being said however, it has already been announced by Aniplex that both will be on CR, so no worries.

-edit-
And it looks like they already did announce them, just awhile back
At least UBW was "technically announced", the YLIA article states it in the article, but not the title.

I realised that they wouldn't reply to me, that would be unfair to everyone else, but I asked so that someone, like you (thanks), could confirm that they would be on Crunchyroll.

The contract details are not quite finalized, but we wanted to clear the rights to at least get the first episode out so we wouldn’t have to delay the whole series. We try our best to provide as much information as we can regarding delays, but sometimes we are contractually bound until everything is signed and stamped.

-Kun Gao, Crunchyroll Co-founder, in regards to Encouragement of Climb Season 2 during a Reddit AMA.

The show aired this past season and never got past episode 1 here. This was after it was announced in a thread just like this that they had got it, with no indication that they might not have secured more than one episode at the time of announcement.

I can't answer when they do it, or how often they do it. I can only answer about the time it happened to bite them in the end. Until I am given word that they are no longer practicing the method of announcing titles before they finalize deals for shows, no matter their over all track record, I feel the question deserves to be asked.

It happened once in CR's history of 23 seasons of legal simulcasts. Personally, I'm not going to worry about the odds of it happening again, as that makes the frequency of occurrence literally a fraction of a percent.

CR tends to be shy once burned (witness that they quit pre-announcing apps about the Vita app long delay, and long ago quit putting up boxes at one go for all the simulcasts they expected to get for a season after the one early season where they had to take one or two back).

Frankly, I would be more upset over the fact they were apparently still listing Encouragement of Climb 2 under "New Simucast Titles" on the lineup page up until the moment it was switched to the listing for the fall. (I know it was still listed when Hanamonogatari was added).

The failure or percentage of failure is not what I am upset over, it's the methodology they were (are) practicing that set them up for their failure. I don't know how often they get into the situations they were in, as I said, I only know of the one time they failed. The chances of it happening again are irrelevant, I want to know that they're not setting themselves up for it to happen again. EoC2 should have never been announced as it was, the only purpose served by the announcement is to their own benefits. Had I ever known they ever took such chances, I would give second thought to subscribing for the length that I did.

I hope you are right, about them learning their lessons. However, given the nature of the situation, that I didn't know they were even doing it to begin with, I will continue to ask for clarification for new announcements until I am assured that I do not need to.

If that is your concern, the obvious response would be to time your renewal to be based on when the second episode of any series or multiple series you are interested in have aired. Expecting CR to respond to specific requests about contract details regarding specific series is unrealistic, based on my observations.

Since Encouragement of Climb 2 was scheduled for 2 cours, I am assuming you subscribed for either 3 months (with the intention of renewing at least once) or for 12 months.

If you subscribed for 12 months when the announcement was made, there isn't much to be done for another 9 months. Assuming you subscribed for 3 months around the time EoC 2 was announced, and you are up for renewal, the following tactics could be used:

1. Cancel your membership on the final day (or request from customer service your automatic renewal be turned off).

2. Assuming there is one specific show that would trigger your re-subscription, obtain a guest pass to view the first episode. Once the second episode is posted, re-subscribe.

-OR-

2. Re-subscribe for one month, and then re-subscribe for a longer period only if the show(s) you are interested in continue beyond the first episode.

If that seems like too much trouble over such a small thing, it is, since based on historical data, the odds of it happening again are about on par with a any single Megamillions ticket winning $5.

The odds of two or more series in any season, much less two or more series you specifically are interested in having such an issue are even smaller.

Wow, so far everything is available worldwide with an exception for Asia. Though I'm not certain I'll follow any of these, it's nice to see I'm able to
Keep up the good work!

The first two look pretty promising to me. I just finished watching the first episode of Karen Senki, and it was simply awful.

I didn't subscribe over one show. My concern, as I have made clear, is CR announcing anything before they finalize the deal. I don't care if they done this for every single show they've ever gotten, I don't care if it has worked out for everyone for all but one show ever. It is not something that they should be doing, it's only to their benefit to announce more titles than may get at the start of a season. Even with their very good track record, they're taking a risk that should not exist and if they fail, it's only people who wanted those shows that lose out.
