The Fruit of Grisaia, although it has some harem elements, is really deep and touching (I'm going off the visual novel). You'll definitely be missing out if you don't give it a shot.

I think the main thing to be concerned about is that the visual novel it is based on is incredibly long (in terms of word count, roughly the same as the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy). Granted, a lot of that is jokes and flavor, but just the main route of the game is longer than many novels. I'm a fast reader, but Amane's route alone took me well over 10 hours to read. I'm just worried that the anime will either be so truncated that it loses all the charm and (fairly complex) characterization of the VN, like Kanon did, or that it will focus only on the humor and ecchi elements to the detriment of the actual story.

Minor spoilers about the visual novel, feel free to skip, but they aren't directly about the plot:

I'll probably watch the first episode, just to see how it is, but I doubt I'll watch much more, unless the voice acting or animation is really good. I liked Grisaia no Kajitsu a great deal, but not to the degree that causes me to eagerly anticipate the new Fate/Stay Night series (I swear, they just keep repackaging it and I still keep consuming it).

Good points! I'm pretty sure though that they are only adapting the Yumiko route, or at least that's what I heard.

Kind of a pity though; I would have liked to see Amane's route animated (though that would probably take 12 episodes by itself).

The mecha seems pretty good. Hopefully it can make Sundays a pretty strong day for anime.

Grisaia is on my to-watch list! Now, I need Chaika, Daitoshokan, Log Horizon, and Amagi Brilliant Park.

I think it pretty obvious at this point to think that Yumiko is going to be the main heroine. I mean all character has a role even if they do not do their route but Yumiko so by default, she is pretty much force to be the main heroine and this was pretty evident in the trailer.

Amane - The "Onee-San" Character

Michiru - The Joke Character

Makina - The "Onii-Chan" Character

Sachi - The

Yumiko - The Tsundere character which by default levels up = The Main Heroine character

I would love an Amane route my self but I do not believe they can do the route justice because of how gruesome it is. I just don't think they will be able to execute the route emotionally well enough for it to have the same impact. While Yumiko route is probably the easiest to animate and is basically them copping out but it will still be pretty satisfactory if they do it right. They might also go the other direction and just follow the entire trilogy instead of just going for the first game.

Eagerly awaiting Log Horizon 2, which I suspect will be a Friday announcement, and Yowamushi Pedal GRAND ROAD, which I also suspect will be a Friday announcement but could come Saturday as well.
