Gurren Lagann - Episode 8...

Ballad of Fallen Angels or Cowboy Bebop Episode 5 is probably the objective answer since lots of people recognise it as the best standalone episode ever. While I am not a big fan of Bebop myself, with it being "Filler - the Anime" and all, I do love the Ballad. I mean the animation, the tone, the villain, the music, oh god, the music. It's just fucking beautiful.

So many but for the sake of this i'll pick one of my favorites from Ghost in the Shell 2nd Gig. Episode 11.

The Major comes across a mysterious store of memories where she is shown the old prosthetic bodies of two children and is told the story of two children who were in a plane crash. It gives us some important back story on The Major since we know her current identity Motoko Kusanagi is an alias and she has a full prosthetic body. She has lived under so many identities in different bodies she has forgot who she was. We also get some idea of how old she is since as a child she was one of the early success stories for prosthetics and cybernetics which was still in it's startup years. The technology is very advanced in the current time so she's been around for a while. It's a really touching story after the plane crash the only other survivor a small boy is paralyzed while Motoko is in a coma he makes a wish for her to wake up and folds paper cranes. In Japanese mythology there is a legend that if you can fold a certain number of paper cranes your wish will come true.

One day her condition gets worse and she is rushed away and he is told she has gone far away. With her dead he loses hope and only folds paper cranes to wish for her to live. A couple of years later he's visited by a young Doctor who offers him prosthetics and asks if he'd be brave enough to try the procedure. In an effort to encourage him he introduces him to a little girl who has the procedure who comes to visit him regularly. Eventually he agrees to get the procedure done if he can fold paper cranes with his new body. She tries to fold one but can't since the tech is new and she can't make complicated movements with her cybernetic hands yet. She vows that she'll practice making paper cranes so next time she can fold them for him and leaves. He then realises she was the little girl he thought was dead.

There is much more it's a very touching back story and a great series. Just watch it if you have not.

Episode 21 of Attack on Titan - The pure fury Eren shows after he transforms pumps me up every time I watch it. I remember watching it when it came on the simulcast and I had to go for a run after watching it!

Aria the Origination - The final episode -
One of the most beautiful episodes in anime that I've seen.

Zankyou no Terror episode 9 - The ferris wheel scene. Anyone else who's seen it has to admit, it's absolutely spectacular.

Hajime no Ippo New Challenger - The entire Hawk vs Takamura fight (spans 4 episodes).

Episode 3 and 6 of No Game No Life - best games ever

Any episode of the Monogatari franchise with Kaiki in it

Those are all I can think of for now!

Easy for me. Series: Haganai Next Episode 4: A Man is Among Them. Why? The gang goes to an amusement park. After a bunch of banter about how the roller coaster the black dragon is not so bad . . .

At the top of the first drop.

The only one to not freak out,

Yora and Sena keep riding to prove who is the better woman.

It's just a howlingly funny episode.

One of the Tachikoma episodes from Ghost In The Shell: 2nd Gig, where Batou's Tachikoma is following a little girl around looking for her lost dog. If that episode doesn't move you, you don't have a soul.

Episode 21 of Clannad: After Story when

have the story play out realistically with Tomoyo find salvation with
and having him move on with his life instead of that

That is still my only issue with Clannad but nonetheless that was what I consider my favorite. Either that or End of Evangelion because dat ending.

I can't just go for one...

Death note ep 7 is a masterpiece. I look at it as art and i also treat it as my religion....

Attack on titan ep 21 was probably the best 20 min period of enjoyment ive had in my entire life.

Hunter x hunter ep 116. Hunter x hunter is number 2 on my list for best anime. When i first read the manga, it was easily my favorite moment of the entire series, and then the anime came and just multiplied by like 10.

And since i just rewatched Ippo vs Sendo, ill put episode 75 of Hajime no ippo on here too

Probably either episode 10 of Sword Art Online

or episode 13 of Nagi-Asu.

Gurren Lagann has some good ones, Clannad of course has some as well.

You know now that I think about it, episode 14 of Clannad ~After Story~ might be my all time favorite episode.
Call me a hopeless romantic, but just watching them start their new life together was the most heartwarming episode of anything I've ever seen.
