I love threads like these!

Favorite Episodes

Gurren Lagann Episode 15: I Will Head Towards Tomorrow

This is probably the best episode I've watched in any anime. The conclusion of Gurren Lagann was epic, but I feel like the mid-season finale was the best in terms of gratification. It not only had an awesome fight and the art was topnotch, but the ending was just so sweet and enjoyable that it just took strides to my heart.

This episode is absolutely legendary.

Attack on Titan Episode 25: The Wall - Raid on Stohess District (3)

Probably one of the most epic episodes I've seen in terms of music, art, and tone. The battle was insane and everything fell into place. And who could forget the tease at the end?

Naruto Shippuden Episode 167: Planetary Devastation

This episode had one of the best fights I've ever seen! The emotion, tone, and flashiness was so intense and kept you on the edge of your seat. Not only that, but the art was incredible. This is probably one of Naruto Shippuden's biggest highlights and makes me happy that I kept up with the show just so I could experience episode 167.

Kill la Kill Episode 3: Junketsu

This episode had it all: It was hilarious, action packed, great art, awesome music, and showed us how over the top Kill la Kill could get. In the third episode they set the bar so high and the series just kept on getting better. But episode 3 was a reminder why Kill la Kill is so fantastic.

Clannad After Story Episode 17: The Ends of the Earth

This episode was the only thing in any entertainment media to make me shed tears, multiple ones mind you. The amount of emotions that were piled into this episode was unreal. This episode proved why you always have to move one and look ahead so you can realize what you do actually have in your life and not what you don't. Even through the pain, there is happiness.

Absolutely phenomenal episode.

Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid Episode 13: Continuing Day By Day

This episode was great. Massive character development for the main character, emotionally filled, and an awesome battle. I really liked this episode and it rapped up the season in a nice way. They teased us at the end and I can only hope that Full Metal Panic gets another season.

Sword Art Online Episode 10: Crimson Killing Intent

Loved this episode. Finally showed the characters excel majorly in their relationship and this is the episode that really made me fully fall in love with Sword Art Online. It did a lot of things right with the characters, the setting, and the set up. I can't help, but feel so good when watching this episode. It's just to satisfying and emotionally compelling.

Hunter x Hunter Episode 126: Zero x And x Rose
HxH had a lot of epic and emotional moments, but I have to highlight this one because the battle was absolutely amazing. Definitely one of the best I've seen in anime, rivaling the Pain vs Naruto fight. You had two juggernauts going full out (well at least one of them was) and the tone and art was just great.

Kokoro Connect Episode 17
This episode was packed to the brim with themes: Redemption, forgiveness, accepting the past, and the realization of your true feelings. Definitely an awesome conclusion to a phenomenal show. Everything came together, and it was completely emotional and had a great ending. Definitely one of the best conclusions I've ever seen in a romance show.

My Top 3: (though I can't decide between them)

First Episode of Kotoura-San (If the rest had been as good, it would have been one of the greatest shows ever)
18th Episode of Clannad After Story (the last start-to-finish happy episode in that series, to remind you without giving any spoilers)
Episode 9 of Maoyu ("I am Human", one of the great speeches in all of anime)

If I had to take on this tall, practically impossible task:

Attack on Titan episode 17
I seriously think this is the most epic 25 minutes I've ever seen in an anime. Everything that made AoT fantastic was on full display. Heavy action, very prominent plot twists, lots of angry yelling, and that glorious orchestrated soundtrack.

As obscure as it sounds, I'm tempted to say episode 18 of Sengoku Collection.

It's rare that individual episodes of a show ever stand out to me, and this may just be the only one that does. Like most of the episodes of that show, it's a self contained story that you can watch without having seen any other episode of the show. I just found it really memorable for some reason. Actually, there are a few other episodes of that show that fall into this category - like the one about the old woman and the maid. Anyway, this is one episode that I actually consider to be art, even though I don't consider Sengoku Collection itself to be art.

Episode 10 of Madoka Magica might be a closer runner up. It's probably fairly obvious why for those who have seen the show.

Oh, but i'm also tempted to say episode 1 of Aria the Natural. That episode really sticks out to me. Every episode of Aria is amazing for different reasons, and there are many that are far more touching than this episode, but what occurs in this particular episode is just so... whimsical? Zun taka poko ten, zun taka pon!

I'll edit this if I think of one that surpasses any of these three.

So many animes... so many could name but ill do some of my tops XD

Naruto Shippuden: 30, 166, This show has many many episodes, and i am sure there are some more that could be added, but again these 2 stood out to me as omg masterpieces... while 30 made me cry and feel what the characters were feeling, 166 made my heart beat so fast, and

Aldnoah Zero: 12 While this show's ending is more recent, ill put my reason in spoiler

Sword Art Online: 3 While i understand this shows haters, i don't think anyone could deny that episode 3, you shed a tear...

Hunter x Hunter: 47, 131, ( I am sure i could remember way more... but these 1's stood out to me) These episodes stand out as just being overall awesome episodes that you remember for being awesome, while 47, made you see and realize how committed Kurapika was to getting his revenge, you also saw how amazingly powerful he was, and made you excited for more, while 131... I have to say I have the terrible bad luck of marathoning this previously, and this was the episode i ended with finishing marathoning and having to wait and be patient for, i was all like this episode it self could probably be of the best episodes of this whole show, idk but dang, the intensity in that episode...
