I've had Windows 8 for a while now and I must say I really miss the look and feel of Windows 7. I was hoping they'd go back to something more similar to Windows 7 next but it doesn't look like that's happening. Oh well, I guess it's time to get used to the new look of Windows.

Have you tried a start menu replacement? You can effectively turn Windows 8 into Windows 7 for free.

Hmm, that's interesting. I had heard of them in the past but I never tried them. I didn't think you could customize it that much. Well I've gotten used to this computer to the point where I like it a lot more than I used to, but when I get Windows 10 or a new Windows 8 computer I'll definitely try that. Thanks for the tip

What happen to 9? Is it so cool that they had skip a number?

While I don't use 8 to any major extent, it's not as bad as claimed to be.
It's just more use of the shortcut keys that normal users don't touch that often.

Wait that, where is Windows 9? Still 10 looks to me better than 8, but worse than 7. I will stick with 7. I hate those ugly big ass boxes, why it's necessary to keep adding them on desktop? They should keep that on mobiles where it belongs to.

It looks great for PC, but I want to replace my Surface RT with a Surface Pro 3. I love the tiles menu in my Surface; great for a tablet, not for a desktop. I hope we get to use the start button when we are on desktop mode and tile menu when we are using it as a tablet.

One thing I never understood was the people saying Windows 8 is bad. So far I've had my laptop for over two years now, and so far Windows 8 isn't any different than 7, other than the function that you can press the windows key and it brings up the metro menu, which, might I add has some neat functions other than looking stupid and catering to tablets. You can just type a program's shortcut name in and you press enter, boom, opened, which is something I've kinda been enjoying with it. When it comes down to it, overall it's an improvement to 7, and is surprisingly compatible with tons of things that 7 isn't.

No love for 9

I have Windows 8 and I very much miss the "traditional" Start button. I like seeing that it's being brought back.

I just built my gaming pc exactly one year ago and i purposely bought windows 7 and not 8 for two big reasons, the first reason is that the start button was perfect so why get rid of it, and second i absolutely hate tablets and smart phones so i was not going to support that crappy os coming to pc's.
If you ask why i hate tablets and smartphones (i have never owned either and never will) its because both are over priced garbage and more importantly you cant use a smartphone they way you should beable to because they have bandwith capps at low levels. If i buy a 1080p smart phone and have to pay 80$ a month i better beable to stream 1080p video on it as much as i want whenever i want. /end rant\
