Well, hi people.
I am, as the title suggests, suffering from a bad case of the blues.
Why, you ask, am I suffering from the blues?
POST ANIME DEPRESSION. Yes, it is real. Yes, it is very painful.
As you probably know, a beloved and famous anime, Hunter x Hunter , has ended. It happened to be my absolute favorite anime, along with the favorite anime of a few of my friends. I feel extremely sad because it is over and OF COURSE my favorite character left. (killuaaa T_T)
It really sucks. How do you guys deal with PAD? What do you suggest I try? If you watched HxH, who was your favorite character and why?
Thanks so much. (PS: yay, this is my first forum topic! *canned applause*)

Rewatch the same anime as many times as you can so as to fill up the empty, gaping hole in your heart. Because denial is ALWAYS the absolute best and MOST EFFECTIVE way to deal with your issues.

I usually just sit there and go over the entire plot again in my head over and over again. It usually helps me to accept the plot and the ending of the series. If the series had a dumb ending then I'm usually pissy for a good week before I get over it.

If you keep thinking about HxH, you'll never find a show that could be better. Although, saying that, after I've finished watching a series so good I get "the void", I take a break from anime for a week or two to let it soak in.

There's a few options that I do:

1. Let the anime soak in for about a week and let the emotions die down. I'll try to stay away from anime related things for at least 5 days.

2. Go watch another anime to help patch up the void. This seems to help me especially if I'm watching simulcasts because a show will end and I'll be sad, but then I can go watch another show right after it to make me better.

3. Rewatch certain episodes that you love from the anime (HxH in this case) and after rewatching them a few times you start to accept the fact that it's over.

Oh, wow. I've been feeling the exact same way... Killua was also my favorite character.

In my case, the aftermath of Aldnoah.Zero's twelfth episode has provided a much needed distraction...

But as far as what I've been watching to try filling the void, I decided to pick up Yu Yu Hakusho. It's by the same author as HxH, so it provides a similar feel at times, especially when you can pick out what parts of the story Togashi incorporated into HxH.
If that doesn't work for you, you could always pick up the older version of HxH. It has a different overall tone than the 2011 version, but it's still an entertaining watch. It only covers up to the end of Greed Island, though.

In general, I usually do what LoomyTheBrew suggested: rewatching favorite episodes from a series that I've just finished until I can accept that it's ended. I also watch any related videos that I can find on YouTube, whether they're theme songs from the series, parodies, or favorite clips or reviews. Basically, I drown myself in anything related to the show until I'm no longer depressed about it...

I re-watched most of the series 8 times now (my #1 favorite anime as well), but now that it's over I'm about to do a full re-watch with some of my friends. Also going to re-watch the original. My #1 favorite character is and will always be Killua; he's the most relatable character in the series for me, and being an adorable badass is certainly a bonus.

This is what I do as well. And then try to find another anime I can get attached too very quickly.

I watch the anime on late occasions , I'm currently watching FMAB for the first time, no kidding; I'm on episode 52. Also I'm almost finished with attack on titan. However, this is only if I didn't had time to get caught up to the anime, I start from the beginning to the end, like a book.
