Post-Anime Depression?
Posted 9/30/14
I always watch K-On when I feel empty after finishing a series. I like watching something mindless/stupid after stewing in the emotions/feels of a show.

K-On is for the soul.

I actually just started HxH, since everyone is making such hyperbole comments now that it's over. It's aight so far. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Code Geass
Oreimo
Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo
High School of The Dead

Worst anime depression periods of my life. I was so messed up off of Oreimo I thought maybe something like School Days would ease my mind.

Watch AMV's to remind me of how good it was and listen to the OST if I liked the music.

Here's some HxH ones I like

I've had PAD happen a lot. The worst is when you really get into a more emotionally engaging anime such as Clannad. That one pretty much destroyed my male emotional stability for an entire month after finishing it. My "cure" is finding a new Anime to latch onto. In Clannad's case I was watching a lot of comedy Anime's afterwards which did somewhat help. Like any depression finding someone to talk to about it can also help. I have a few acquaintances that enjoy the occasional Anime and some online friends that do as well. So I just talked Anime with them :-).

I am currently suffering Anime Depression from at least 4 shows including Dusk Maiden of Amnesia, Spice and Wolf, The melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Accel World.

Not necessarily because of the actual endings but because most of these shows are not likely to be seeing another season despite ending on a cliffhanger or showing that the overall story is not over.

Accel World seems to have more chance of coming back though and I really hope it does.

After Aldnoah Zero ended I was annoyed and felt PAD starting to sink in. However I quickly remembered I still had to watch Tokyo Ghoul (that ending was awesome) and the world made sense again.

So generally I just end up replacing one anime with another one (or two) shows straight away. I also find that discussion boards with people talking about that show helps a great deal as usually there is something I missed.

Unless we are talking about the end of Neon Genesis in which case I just shook my fist angrily at clouds for a good 40 minutes.

Find another anime that brings the same feelings out of you, or re-watch the anime.

Honestly the only thing that fills this void is...time. Give it a few days or a week and the depression should die down. Or get some pharmaceuticals to ease the pain

I know the feeling, I couldn't understand how they would just END I mean the chimera arc was pretty long in my opinion but I just was so sad to see the anime be over. How did I get over it? Well I didn't and haven't however there are tons of awesome anime shows that you can fall in love with and look back at HxH as an awesome memory.

PAD is something you can over come! Just keep pushing and never let HxH die! Go make a cosplay!
