do you guys want to know the final truth, once and for all?

In most Anime's, the characters are Asian, but represented with Caucasian features, is this not obvious enough to you guys? i mean, you have your own eyes to see the Caucasian features making up many of the characters, and you can read and hear how it is implied they are most often Asian by their names and geographical location. this is not really something subjective.

god, you know, that sure was hard to figure out..i mean see and hear with my own eyes and ears -_-

I see topic subject went right over someones head

bro you have the final truth? I watch a lot of anime and Japanese and Korean series. I think they represent Asians and Caucasians. Most of my favorite animes have many characters that look Asian. Death Note (everyone), Deadman Wonderland (main character, classmates and practically all have Asian eyes or look Asian), Kill La Kill (some Asian some Caucasian), Durarara (some Asian some Caucasian), SOA (some Asian some Caucasian), Inu x Boku (some Asian some Caucasion). And those are just my favs.

Lactis, I know that there's the Harajuko style and the Ganguro style which I think you're referring to. I know the Ganguro style is practically extinct, you don't see the girls dress up like that anymore. I know from multiple Japanese vloggers I watch on YT.

I watched a documentary on YT of how Indians from India prefer lighter skin and go to great lengths to achieve the look. Most of the TV personalities are lighter or have whiter features so they get more opportunities. But I still think they are free to do what they want. I still think their standard of beauty is Indian because you don't really see them dye their hair or wear blue contacts. Also on the side was a YT video link of how Africans from Africa were burning themselves with bleach to lighten their skin. Also hair removal burns dark skin but some people still did it.

It's sad how they mess with their kids like that. I think we all have an idea of beautiful and strive to fix something about ourselves but we shouldn't hurt ourselves to achieve it.

I get what your saying, beauty should not to have to be denying your entire person, not taking pride in the features, and striving to be something your not.

And documentaries are good and all but we're speaking from our actual experiences in life. I see people everyday paying huge sums of cash and even going broke just get something they were not born with to even just accept themselves.

yah i totally agree with you, im certainly not saying are all represented with Caucasian features. not by a long shot. just look at the hella popular anime SAO, kirito is obviously asian. my point is i dont think its hard to see what the case is for any particular anime.

I remember tanning being a thing wayyyy before Jersey Shore. Seen it in all the movies and workout vidoes, and even porno's. Think every time I went to the beach some chick falls asleep tanning.

True but the way you worded made it seem like it wasn't a big thing still that show came out.

As far as being on topic lol, um I was just asking how people feel about anime when they come across racism/stereotyping ect/

bro is just a South Florida thing. Have you seen my profile? lol I'm not Gay and I'm definitely not a male. I'm a female that likes shonen and shoujo. If you still think I'm a guy, then from my profile you would think I'm gay but how could I be gay if I like mostly shonen and shoujo and not gay anime or manga.

xD wow what a mess.

I'm definitely a straight female broooo!

This is from Baccano! where pretty much all the characters are of European descent and the stereotypical black person.

@Kanade_Yagami

I've never heard of that anime. Most popular animes and popular mangas feature mostly Asians or a mix of Asian & Caucasian.

Baccano! is Italian for "racket" or "ruckus" so it's probably an anime about Europe. But then if Asians made an anime or manga of stereotypical Africans or Black people, most people would be offended no? Edit- Yup, just checked, it takes place in the West so it's not like they're saying those people in the pic are Japanese. You yourself just said "stereotypical black person" so maybe you took offense by his image. I don't think it's stereotypical especially since he is wearing Asian attire.
