I have as of yet not seen Rocky Horror Picture Show, an American film classic. My question to you is simple, folks: should I have my first viewing at home in private, or should I go to a Halloween viewing for my first time? My fate is in your (semi) trustworthy hands, my friends. Vote well, vote wisely. Reports on my findings will follow your choice.

Yes. Cause I wanna FORCE You to go be UBER-SOCIAL with STRANGERS watching a remarkably INSANE, yet altogether quite Lovely production.

But mostly, I just like telling You what to do.

I have to agree that seeing it a social situation is an absolute blast, and crazy as hell! You'll have as much fun watching the audience participation as you will with the movie and you can then go home and watch it again and catch up on all the stuff you missed.

I would say to go check it out... and I hope that you have friends going with you. It will be a very memorable time to talk about with them later.
Also, I say go with friends because even if you have a bit of social anxiety, your friends will help you relax and go with the flow.

Oh you should definitely take advantage of this opportunity. It's one of those very few movies that's just perfect to be watched with other people, and if you go you can tell them about the 1981 sequel Shock Treatment, because, goddammit not enough people know about that beautiful piece of cinematic brilliance.

Well, I kept my word as best I could. I couldn't get into a theater showing, but I did watch the film and genuinely enjoyed it. The songs are still stuck in my head, especially "Science Fiction Double Feature", "Time Warp", and "Sweet Transvestite". Didn't like "Dammit Janet" all that much, but beyond that it was a grand time.
