Hi,
if you have seen Horizon in the middle of Nowhere, and enjoyed it, then clearly you know how great the characters are in it.
So for those of you who have seen the show, who was your favorite character, and why.
As for me, my favorite character was probably the skeleton priest Christopher Hatton. Not only did he have a cool design and ability, but his voice actor was top notch, especially his use of English. Does anyone know if he'll be back ( this is in the territory of the light novels now) or was his battle on the ship with Masazumi his last hurrah. Seriously if anyone knows anything about the later light novels, I'd love to hear if he comes back.

Oooo lesse, good question!

Ummm...I guess I'd have to go with *scurries off to the wikipedia page for the show*

There are so many that I couldn't pick just one, so here are a few of my favorites:

Tori's older sister, Kimi Aoi.
Suzu,
and Masazumi Honda.

I like pretty much all of the other Ariadust Academy kids, though.

I like all of them but if I had to limit it

-Tori Aoi: he's a complete joker that rarely thinks things through, and doesn't hide these things.
- Tenzou Crossunite: slacker, ninja-themed, and that scarf *.*

I'm still hoping for another season but I don't have high hopes

Well that's easy. Kazuno. Though unfortunately she doesn't get much screen time what time she does get she leaves a huge impact and displays a massive degree of badassery.

After that I'd say Gin Tachibana just because I have thing for kuudere characters.

Nate Mitotsudaira. Definite badass, honorable as can be... and easily embarrassed.

Gin Tachibana comes in a close second.

But when you get down to it, there are a LOT of good, fun characters in that show.

Even the secondary and tertiary ones are worth watching.

I was thinking about it, and I would have to agree with you and say my favorite main character was probably Masazumi. She has no special abilities per say, and that's what makes her great, she gets around on her wits and hard work alone.

I don't know why you wouldn't have high hopes. Both seasons and the light novel have sold spectacularly in Japan. The reason there's probably no third season yet is because it was a massive amount of effort for Studio Sunrise to put that out, and the obviously needed to take a break to work on other projects. However I think within a year or two we may see a season 3.

This is a really hard question

I loved every character in it. If I have to narrow it down,

Nate Mitotsudaira
Masazumi Honda
Malga & Margot

Those 4.... Masazumi would prob be #1. However, each character brought something that was really fun and the chemistry they brought within the show among other characters was superb.

Horizon is definitely at the top of "Why no sequel" list; terrific BD/DVD sales and no shortage of source material (and apparently no serious diverging from that material in the anime), but yet we just passed 2 years since the premiere of the second series without even a hint of another series being green-lit.

I'm beginning to think women in the future have been genetically re-engineered to store any excess fat in their breasts.

Well a season 3 would probably take 2 to three years to make. But have hope, look at Durarara, and how late it was getting a sequel.

I won't say I don't see any hope, just not high. I've always thought of Horizon as being niche and thus having a harder time getting adapted fully. That being said as you mentioned Durarara is getting a second season finally (which I can't wait for) and Oregairu (again can't wait) too is getting another season, so its possible. I would love to see all the characters, and new ones, again thats for sure.

Also I'm mostly a pessimist so that also plays a part xD (Still waiting for new seasons of Darker than Black and Full Metal Panic!)

Yeah I understand. But it's more of just niche over here. As I said before, not only were the sales for the BD/DVDs averaging 21,000 per volume( and there were seven volumes) the light novel has ranked very highly on sales lists for the past few years. Here are reason's why a third season would take several years still
1. Sunrise is a very busy studio, they often do Gundam movies.
2. Some episodes of Horizon took over 30 animators per scene, so they would certainly have to cut down on the adaptions of other shows.
3. The author Kawakami was very involved with the animation, so he would definitely have to be part of a new season, and he's busy cause he turns out a long chapter each week/month.
4. Getting all those voice actors together for an extended time is a big undertaking.
S1 and S2 were probably so quick after each other because of the fact that both were probably green lit at the same time, so production on season 2 was probably well underway by the end of season 1. But after that the studio needs a break, but there is nothing stopping them from another season in a few more years. and don't forget, in season 1 Musashi commented about them being back soon, but in season 2 she mentioned that the viewer should take a rest ( I think this is a good indication of how the studio feels about another season, which is "just wait a little while, we're not done yet").
Sorry for the monologue, I just love each and every aspect of this series and I wanted to encourage not to lose hope in a new season.
