Well, it's pretty clear the mecha aren't going to be the only heavy objects featured.

Hm, I think I like this more than I should. It felt as if some(if not most) of my undergrad personality (I am definitely more Quen than Hav) along with one of my old uni mates were inserted into a quasi-mech warfare series and we just rolled along with the plot haha. We had a princess too now that I think about it.

First I get some interesting sc-fi of course ot'mixed in with some comedy and fanservice ! I like the chief ! In a way has kinda of a M.A,S.H feel to it too! Oh i was cracking up the deer was a moose ! The animation is super good ! When they threw everything at the Object in the first part of the episode I said they didnt try a nuke / then they did ! I was impressed by that > Oh some cool music too insert and the ED

Episode 1

Being late sucks, guys...

Anyway, this episode was an interesting start. We get some world building and explanation of what is going on in this world with the heavy objects. It seems there will be sci-fi in this series, which i enjoy. After that, the pacing seemed a bit calmer or slower, then we got the fan service and comedy moment, which threw me off guard a little. After all of that, we get to see the princess' heavy object in action, but it seems she lost. I wonder what this will do with its sci-fi and action mechanics. I am looking forward to the next episode!

Somebody needs to remind them that white text on a white background is hard to read at times. Show is meh to me so far. Will watch further episodes before making a decision.

Well, I dunno. I didn't dislike it, but there is one irritating thought that keeps popping into my head. Why do the Objects even need operators? They already showed that the objects can be remotely (and possibly even autonomously) operated. I guess plot. Would rather see something more militarily oriented (strategies, large scale combat, etc), so too soon to tell.

They could be remotely controlled ? The only bit i recall was that the commanding officer also had control over units far away (however that makes sense)

And well. I don't think you should expect anything bigger in terms of military strategy or tactics. Whoever wrote this so far seems to have no idea how that works :p IE some big machines somehow render all warfare pointless except for the machines themselves. Pretty sure every strategist through time is rolling in their graves over that one.

Well, at least the nuke managed to score a Pyrrhic victory! I miss the tactics of Aldnoah Zero. There were so many "forced" boob jokes and references I lost count - hope there is more to this show. So far pretty MEH. Like that line from the movie "A Knight's Tale": "Look a little higher."

Meh for me as well.
"Funny sidekick" is annoying. Low forehead boob jokes. 14 years-old driving war machines... yeah yeah of course...

I'll give this show a couple more episodes but I'm not expecting much.

We know drones are vulnerable to hacking so having a weapon capable of devastating an entire conventional force that could also be hacked would be bad. Having an operator on board significantly reduces the possibility of a successful cyber attack on the Object. At the very least if the Object was hacked the operator could pull a manual kill switch.

When Commander Oppai was dressing down the enlisted men, she stated "when I press this board, an Object on standby blows away...", which to me, implies a large degree of remote controlled-ness. I see no reason why the entire operation has to even require a local human operator. And from the looks of the battles between Objects, things look like irconclad warships, where they just broadsided each other, slugging it out until someone sunk...

It could also just mean that once she gives the order. It's executed. It doesn't particularly lean towards either side there really. Just. Vague. Besides if they were remote controlled there'd be no need for the pilots and all that.

Goodness gracious me, why aren't we talking about this.

Girl's butt was the heaviest object in the whole show.

I don't know. I've seen plenty of people talk about that girl's "heavy objects" within the last 24 hours.
