Don't listen to the guy he said to watch Yosuga no Sora and Aki Sora. I don't believe you want to see that kind of stuff. I recommend Toradora since it's a staple. I happened to love Nagi no Asukara, Fruits Basket and Kodocha.

Psssh, it's love. Can't really criticize love for being so explicit. I honestly thought it to be a good heartfelt anime. As long as it's good, I can recommend it.

I tried watching both, and they weren't that great.

for romance... hmmmm..... well, for me, a romance has to also be funny IMO otherwise i'm kinda just cringing at the screen...

Rosario + Vampire, it's one of those kinda romantic, kinda full of fan service, really hilarious shows. if you can stand panty shots everywhere and tskune and moka calling each others' names every once in a while, you'll love this show. it might not be a straight up romance, but it's still pretty good and full of laughs so i'll put it here (:

Toradora!, this is also a very cute, pretty funny anime, everyone at school is scared of the two main protagonists, and it's a show about how they try to set up one another with their best friends. i really did enjoy it, however once in a while there'd be a slow part, but it was still good nonetheless!

My Little Monster, THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE ROMANCE SHOW. it's hilarious, and the female protagonist tries her best to avoid the main male protagonist which is awesome in of itself. i liked it from episode 1!

Kaichou-wa Maid Sama, this is also one of your not average romances, it follows and very tom boy female protagonist who is student cousil president and secretly works at a maid cafe. it follows her and main male protagonist who is super mysterious and only seems to want to annoy our main female gal. it's super awesome and i hghly recommend it!!!

Lastly, i just want to point out this last show, which would probably be a hit or miss for you depending on your tastes.
Love Stage!!, this is a yaoi. because you go HOLY CRAP NOT GONNA WATCH IT. hear me out, please?? it actually has a really good story line, and there's not as much sexy boy x boy scenes as one might imagine; it's actually heart warming and cute, and you can easily fall in love with the characters. it follows Izumi, who's an otaku with famous actor parents, and Ryouma, who is also a famous actor himself. When the two first met, Izumi was dressed up as a girl (dont ask why, just go watch the show). however, eventually Ryouma finds out and the story is about the details that follow.

i think out of all of these, Love Stage!! and Kaichou-wa Maid Sama are my favorites, but please check these out as they're really good stories, and each have a place in my heart :3 welcome to the romantic community!!!
Also, i thought i'd include these screen caps as they are hilarious!! :D

OP, I recommend Fist of the North Star. I gotta warn you though, sometimes it is TOO sappy.

SCHOOL DAYS.
It's probably the WORST (not meaning terrible, meaning I hated the character because he's an ass) romance Anime I've seen.
The story is outstanding, the voice acting is phenomenal, and the art is fantastic.
I recommend it, but be prepared to be hurt, angered, and maybe even a little happy...

I would recommend Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun, not really pure romance but more comedy emphasis. Really interesting show to say the least though.

Loved this show soo much, one of the few that had me laughing uncontrollably.

If you don't mind a little BL, Love Stage!! is a good show. Its funny and pretty meaningful in the romance department imo.
