Both are amazing but fantasy wins - fewer boundaries and all

I like fantasy way more. Sci-Fi is cool and all, but I love me some imaginative worlds and the paradox.

Fantasy, because Sci-Fi is just too science-y.

(Some authors can pull off a combination, though, as does C. S. Friedman.)

Why not both?

There can only be one.

My vote goes to Sci-Fi. Fantasy is great but sometimes it just feels too easy to write a victory out of nowhere. "Take this magical elixir. It grants you immortality!" At least Sci-Fi is more likely to have a set of rules that can't be broken without interfering with an already established plot device.

I like both but tend to lean a little more to sci-fi.

I read a fair bit of both. The problem I have with a lot of Fantasy writers in particular is that they seem to value quantity over quality when it comes to perspectives. I don't need a chapter told from the point of view of the villain's intestines to see what he had for breakfast.

Mix them.

Fantasy, because dragons are awesome. Enough said.

Given that my favourite video game ever is Xenoblade Chronicles, my favourite game series ever is Shin Megami Tensei, and my favourite giant robot anime is Gaiking: The Legend of Daiku-Maryu, my answer to the initial question is... YES.

Anime, I prefer scifi (Psycho-pass, Railgun, Blue Drop etc). Live-action, I prefer fantasy (The Hobbit, Conan, Hercules, Jason and the Argonauts etc).

I'm in agreement. I like them both and it's even better when things go cross genres.
