Since May of last year I have decided that every May is feels month (for me or anyone else who wants to participate). Feels month is watching all of the most heart breaking anime that I can in one month. So I was wondering...since everyone is different than I am...what anime made you have the most feels? Why did it make you feel those feels? And would you recommend someone else to watch it?

As an example I watched Little Busters->Little Busters Refrain. That anime had me bawling like a baby; mostly because I have similar bonds with my friends. I could feel what the characters were going through as if it were my own life struggle. I would recommend it for anyone!

What anime has made you feel?

Only a sadist would recommend anime to somebody else just to make them cry.

I do not want to be a sadist, even though I am.

Isn't this thread a bit premature then...?

Anohana comes to mind. It's one of the few I actually find decent. Clannad was overrated as hell.

Hmm, C3 and HxH left me sadder than a n***a, but I have to say Now and Then, Here and There hit me most with the feels.

Little Busters! is actually my favorite anime, much for the same reason: I'm very close to many of my friends.

AnoHana, Welcome to the NHK, Clannad, Kimi ni Todoke, Nagi no Asukara, Angel Beats!, and Toradora! are all quality anime with tear-jerking moments that I can second.

As for others that have not been mentioned, give some of these a shot. They're not all necessarily constant tear-jerkers on par with the likes of Little Busters! and AnoHana, but there's at least one really good "feels" moment in each of them. I'll put a next to the ones that are focused on making you cry.

The Pet Girl of Sakurasou
Steins;Gate
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Kokoro Connect
Hanasaku Iroha
Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai
Kobato
Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko
OreImo
Invaders of the Rokujyoma
Golden Time

You might also want to give visual novels a try, as poignant drama is what many of them are all about.

Sadism means that you derive delight from the suffering of others itself.

In any case, a good "feels" anime would be Attack on Titan.

I suppose it depends on what you consider "feels", I guess it's different for everyone.

Personally, I got quite a lot out of Mushi-shi and Kino's Journey. They're both somewhat philosophical and can often be emotional as well. There's also Natsume's Book of Friends, which is similar but does have some occasional "advancement" with new characters and such.

Living for the Day After Tomorrow is another one I liked. It's also kind of philosophical and emotional like the above but it has more of an on-going story and character development and is a little more "real world" (although there's a supernatural foundation of sorts).

Haibane Renmei is in the same vein I guess. It's not quickly paced and there's a fair bit of mystery but it's all handled very well. It also kind of has "cute girls doing cute things" elements (more so at the start) but even people who don't like that kind of thing might still like the show (assuming they like mystery, emotion and philosophical moments).

I also agree with Nichijou, it's mostly hilarious but it does have some pretty great moments of "feeling" too.

I get emotional at all sorts of things really but there are a few examples at least.

If you want emotional manipulation and angst watch Fushigi Yuugi

It's probably the most angst-ridden anime series in all of history
