My kids watch anime but they don't come on the forums since it's my account (they're 10 and 12, been watching it their whole lives). In general I don't know if a lot of young people watch anime but I suspect it may start to get more popular since Netflix is getting a lot of good titles.

I've noticed the younger fans get more gung ho over the culture yet often don't watch many good series at all. That's why all my best discussions on Crunchyroll tend to be with the older folks who have a deeper appreciation for a wider array of series, as well as more discerning tastes.

Very few people I knew of liked Anime in school when I was your age. I was introduced to cowboy bebop and Trigun around 15 years old and have continued to watch it since.

When I was in high school like 3 years back, everyone in our physics club watched anime.

If they don't its certainly attributed to ignorance. I think if they watched it enough they wouldn't go back to ordinary cartoons. Marketing and parental censoring has much to do with it, too.

Since anime doesn't keep myself-- and likely many others-- away from "ordinary cartoons," I find you're idea rather odd.

On OP's topic; there are plenty who watch, varying from location to location.

Of course they do. I'm 17 now but I have been watching anime since my early childhood.

I never said regular cartoons would keep you "away", or anyone else. Its really baffling how you could misinterpet what I said so..What I said was that if more people let their kids watch anime it and it was marketed better to western audiences it would be as popular if not more than standard american cartoons.

I don't know about the younger generation nowadays, but I started watching anime when I got a computer in high school.

Yeah, some teens watch anime. It's just that less of them are that vocal about it because most other kids suck and will make fun of you for saying you do. Also a lot of people new to anime just watch typical shounen that usually aren't very good.

I'm actually younger than you are. I started watching anime when I was only 6 years old.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------P.S. I'm only 14 years old.

P.P.S I failed at making a border.

P.P.P.S I also forgot to mention that I have had an account on Crunchyroll.com since 2012, but watched anime on this site since 2010.
