Be myself. That's a laugh. Behaving how I please within the confines of the law was a given. But I'd take this a step further and suggest speaking your mind is even better.

Oh, the hilarious reactions I sometimes provoke by just saying what I'm thinking out loud before I ever think it through. Why wouldn't you screw with the minds of the people who want you to be some perfect cookie-cutter human being caste from the same mold as they and everyone else?

Also helps me keep people I dislike at a distance by the process of elimination. Win, win, win.

Theres no such thing as being "yourself". I hate it when people say that. Like what IS yourself?! You obviously have to adapt by changing your personality and behavior when around different types of people. There's just no logic to it. Try being "yourself" when looking for a job and see how that works out.

cliffs: sometimes its best to not be yourself
-Define what "yourself" even is
- Only show your intimate nature with those you trust

OP, You don't have to change for no one.

If the people don't like for what you are, then they don't deserve you. Don't feel bad for not being able to be their friend or go to their parties or whatever, they are lame people, they probably hang out just they can show how "cool" they are. The probably don't even have a good time (I know this, I have been on both sides)

Don't feel bad about them and keep on looking for others, the people who are cool and like anime and pizza and and video games.
Don´t worry, you will find them eventually, you just have to go out there.
In the meantime, we will be right here for you, or at least i will be :3

I really don't give a flying shit about what anyone has to say about me. I really don't. It's something that I have developed after so many years of low self-esteem and self-confidence. So yeah, just be yourself.

What is self? Self = me in certain circumstances, other circumstances don't = self then? I don't understand humans. If I was isolated from the entire world I'd be a completely different person in terms of behaviour and thinking, it's just an environmental change. Our identity changes with environment I guess.

Okay screw this.

I always wondered should you be yourself or be the person you want to be?

That depends on whether you want to be what you should, or should be what you want.

Yeah. If you want to be a psychopath murderer, then you shouldn't be "you"
