So most of us have seen many polls/rankings that make the news feed here about top anime or favorite anime or best anime according to websites voted on by fans. Almost all the time when I read these there are always comments making fun of the polls for being wrong or missing this or missing that. so here are my questions for you.

If these polls/ rankings were voted on by professionals, for example those who work in the anime industry and studios, would you still make fun of or bash at the rankings/polls if you did not agree with them?

basically..do you still put your opinion in a higher position over that of a professionals concerning anime?

people have terrible opinions.

Of course I do. A professional perspective is no more important than an audience perspective, and every professional should know this. Furthermore, professionals can easily have their reviews influenced by socioeconomic incentives working in the same industry as opposed to a viewer who just states his honest opinion.

People take authority too seriously. I say yes.

it's OK to disagree with something.

even if the poll was voted by anime professionals, I would still disagree with the outcomes if they don't match mine or are too far out from mine.

(Instead of just giving numbers, I think these polls should also give reasons why the fans like the anime. Sometimes it's fun to read the reasons why people like a certain anime, it gives me insight into ideas I missed).

Nobody has a magical way of knowing what other people should like. Someone from the music entertainment industry told me that it comes down to the heart when you compose things.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I will respect them for it. But general speaking I like forming my own opinion about things, as I don't like people such as reviewers or fans to do it for me. Besides a "professional reviewer" doesn't know what I like so in that respect I really don't hold things like reviews and polls in high prestige.
